I think the problem is so much time is given to the extremists and nutters with placards, that later we seem to get some "moderate" Muslims (whatever that is)/scholars somehow even agreeing with what they do, as if theyre saying "They may have a point" or "We must 'understand' terrorists.. They (extremists) do not. They should be denounced outright by any normal person.

They prob are, but lets face it, its not news worthy. If you have a group asking for blood, then def that going to be on the news...

Another point is that the news tends to focus on Islam/Muslim alongside terrorist, yet if there is a racist group who had bombs, it wouldn't make any news.....

It doesn't even warrant a page on its own, but think to yourself, if it wasn't BNP but Muslims then i would bet this would make the front page, as did sooo many other.

Havent a clue dude, because it doesn't make good tv? I personally think this.. It should have been front line news, a potential terrorist attack from a political party sounds very big to me!!!, but....

As I said in my first post in this thread, the whole western media has gone mad with publishing everything related to Islam and Muslims (mostly bad stuff obviously, as that will sell newspapers cause everyone still has 9/11 fresh in their heads), so people have adjusted their world views into the very simple opionion that ISLAM=BAD, so when a newspaper reports about Islam and Muslims misbehaving, people wanna read EVERYTHING there is to know about it, cause they're fearfull plus they want their prejudice to be fed and encouraged and authenticated by these newsreports, so they dont have to think deeper about the stuff that's going on.

That fear lives in our western society, so it lives among politicians, so it's all in the news alot, so there's a lot of coverage on it.

Do I feel the media is sending out a wrong and disformed picture of islam and muslims? Ofcourse.

Personally, I myself am way more upset about other stuff going on in our society, apart from a bunch of muslim radical kids who have a leniency towards extremism.
Don't get me wrong, those radical people that are planning on blowing people up and all should be dealt with by the police, and we should get them off the street...
And I fear one of those nutters might one day blow up a train with my girlfriend in it, or whatever...
But other issues like our own goverment lying to us, stealing from us, corruption, supporting Israel and the USA and other countries who lie and cheat and steal and bomb and kill, simply for money (oil and weapon-industry) is way more important to me.

Some people in the west believe that terrorists have no business being HERE on OUR turf, bombing OUR kids, stations, parents, busses, etc etc. But what the fuck are we doing over there then? Why are most westerners more concerned by small crime being done by poor kids over here, instead of really looking at what the fuck OUR OWN, Democratically chosen goverments (they act in our name) are doing to normal civilians overseas!?

I think we're pretty fucking lucky that the amount of bombings and terrorist acts have still been so few. Still too much ofcourse from our point of view, but how can we expect of muslims (or whatever) to keep being civil and social over here in our own community, when we are bombing the shit out of them and their families over there!?

Honestly, our whole way of solving problems and dealing with issues, is just wrong. It's inhumane, and not normal. It's not normal social behaviour in the way we ALL want to get along with eachother. People are so scared and untrusting of the other side, that we would rather just wipe them all out, instead of reachinga mutual respect and agreement somewhere in the middle....
