How does this compare to Dressed To Kill? Its' another homage to Hitchcock isn't it?Davis DVD wrote: "Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced Body Double: Special Edition for release on October 3rd. Director Brian De Palma's ode to "Vertigo" and "Rear Window" arrives with an anamorphic transfer, a Dolby Digital Surround track and the newly-produced featurettes "The Seduction," "The Set-Up," "The Mystery" and "The Controversy," all featuring new on-camera interviews with De Palma and actors Melanie Griffith, Gregg Henry and Dennis Franz. Body Double is reportedly a badly-written mess (I haven't seen it). They should do an SE for De Palma's Blow Out, now that's a terrific thriller (which Sony also own, via the MGM buy out).
Dunno. Obsession was though, it was a total rip-off of Vertigo but damn well made. Its' another homage to Hitchcock isn't it?

Blow Out is very good in parts, but not as satisfying on the whole as Body Double, which is a lot of fun. Dressed to Kill maybe the best film, but if you liked that one, check out Body Double for sure. For one: it's the only mainstream film I can think of which uses the term "fist-fucking".
The new SE has several featurettes, but nothing too substancial sounding. I'd upgrade if the word is particularly positive or there's an improvement in AV quality. I currently own the standard version so in no hurry.

DVDbeaver comparison:- R1 barebones vs. R1 SE. So there's zilch PQ improvement for R1 barebones vs. R1 SE, but noticeable improvement for R2 barebones vs. R1 SE.
