Heroes - Awesome...!

Post by thelostdragon »

Whoa! Just watched the first episode of this. It is really awesome. If you only hear about the storyline, you'll think of an X-Men rip-off, but it's not. Check out the trailer at YouTube.com:

Yeah it's not bad (I reaaaaally liked the cliffhanger at the end of episode 3 :D GREAT STUFF).

However I feel it at times tries too hard to be epic and it comes off a bit pretentious. Should be interesting to see where they wind up though... let's just hope it's not another promising show that gets cancelled.

Seriously those tv-execs must live in another universe if they fail to see the writing on the wall with where they are going... TV viewership in general is down, and they can any promising show because it failed to deliver more viewers than their "top dogs" previous years? If I'm not too mistaken every show is having a slip of the viewership... Wake up! You destroyed our TV with all your reality garbage and then we found other stuff to do than sit around and watch your trash! It will take some effort to get us back infront of the box...
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

True, but they say the same about cinema viewership. So what are people watching? Surely mostly DVDs. But most of the people I know haven't even bought one DVD movie or not even 10.

I'm pretty sure that the most exciting stories are currently told in TV series. See "24", "Lost", "Battlestar Galactica" and now "Heroes". With every season they get higher production values. I guess it is due to the success of recent TV series that a show like "Rome" is possible now. I'm told that "Rome" is the most expensive TV series ever made.

Just watched the first five episodes of this (whilst in bed suffering with this blasted cold) and I like it a lot. The sequences with Hiro are the funniest (the casino segment is great) and it's getting in gear. Like most superhero-related tales, the full extent of the powers aren't ever given away in the first few episodes and like gojensen, I like the cliffhangers :), so I'll continue watching this :).

Whoa! Just watched episode 4. I love the cliffhanger and the fact that when Hiro appears and speaks in English, you know he is from the future. "You look different without your scar!"

AWESOME!!!

So funny, I know. I don't know what will happen later, but when he appears from the future for the first time, he makes theh impression that he went through a lot of bad things, especially with that katana on his back and that his humour has hence faded away. But that's just theory of mine.

Yeah I agree, he seemed like a completely different person. One thing to note of course is that he spoke English with an American accent haha.

I'm up to episode 5 at the moment, it's a fairly interesting show.

I do find the music really annoying and that Indian guy who plays Suresh is a terrible actor.

This series has totally snagged my attention. plenty of twists and cliffhangers, some cool powers, some lame ones... as it should be :p The Suresh character is the weakest link at the mo but he is catching up fast. I am supporting the bad guy right now though...

You mean you support Sylar? The dude that goes around chopping folks brains out for dinner?

Just watched episode 13. It's getting so cool right now. Nice cliffhanger there, too. Can't wait until tomorrow/day after tomorrow for episode 14.

Hiro is still the most interesting character. And now that he's been banged up in that van, we should be seeing Linderman soon.

Edit: Not Linderman, but his father.

What I didn't get, how did they manage to hide under that van before they got captured? I mean these bad guys had their hands on them in the beginning of the epsiode.

Can't remember that far back, to be honest LD

But the last episode shown was great. Stuff's really beginning to ramp up. I like Eccleston's sarcastic Obi-Wan character as well. Throwing Pretrelli's character off the roof was classy :)

I've read about it, it starts on Monday on Sci-Fi Channel at 10pm.
TBH it does sound a bit like X-Men or some naff superhero show :D I'm sure its not though.
I'll try to tape the double bill.

Just watched 9 episodes for a whole day, and this is a great series, I love it. Plus my wife who not really into Sci Fi also enjoys this. Hiro is great in this, just finished watching where he is gone 6 months early to save the waitress. Its a great series, on par of Lost, Prison Break and 24

Ep 15 was good, but 16 is just amazing. Stuff really kicks in and serious shit goes down. I didn't see Simone being killed coming at all. And it looks as though Sylar now has a weakness. Oh, and of course, Stan The Man! :D

Here I am, doing Bisc again (er... :D) with another show.

The writers are on fire at the moment. A nice change-up from the usual kind of episode in that this time, we focus pretty much on one set of characters and don't flit around from one party to another.
Takei is evil!

And just for clarification purposes, should anyone be reading this thread many moons from now and the weak link between this and the Battlestar thread is broken: I have not had sexual relations with Bisc.
There.

:D
