Markgway wrote:The English don't care because most think of England and Britain as one and the same.
Agreed and to me I don't understand why it should be any other way.
Markgway wrote:Also the English in power lack national pride. Can you imagine a Scotsman criticizing his own flag?
He he true but it's just a flag, big deal.
Markgway wrote:I suppose England bears the brunt purely because that's where central government is.
The government has to be somewhere? I seriously don't think splitting the country would fix any of each countries problems.
Markgway wrote:But look at it this way: if we split into four republics you English wouldn't have to put up with your country being run by Scots anymore.
I don't give a shit to me we're all British anyway.
Markgway wrote:Yeah, but that's hardly a good enough reason, in my opinion. After the Queen passes the crown should be disbanded. Let her live out her reign.
Certainly not. I'm in complete agreement.
Markgway wrote:Lol, maybe they don't? But the monarchy (as it is) always seems very English.
Rubbish. They may have an English accent (even then it's a very Royal English accent) but don't most Royals have Scottish/Welsh blood.
Markgway wrote:Why is it sad? Most countries in the world expect immigrants to adopt to their ways of living. Why should Britain be any different? It's actually less the immigrants themselves that I'm condemning, but the white liberals who run this country with an open door free-for-all policy that's backfired and now no one knows how to fix it?
Well true but that's not what I was saying was sad, was I. I said it was sad there is distrust and friction, in your eyes.
romerojpg wrote:Yup they were suposed to let in 14 thousand imigrants over the last few years.
They let in between 400 thousand and 800 thousand!!!!!!!!!! they dont even know the exact figure, it could be over a million if you go by some figures!
Fair point but as often is deliberately forgotten.

British people migrant abroad too, maybe not in the same numbers but it's much higher than you think. We're there imposing ourselves on other cultures, many even to Eastern Europe.
romerojpg wrote:Let more in so they can steal more jobs and make it harder for me to get one.
Please explain how any stealing is going on? They go through the same interview process everyone else does, they have to apply for visa and work permits or if they're part of the EU they're legally allowed to be here.

As we're legally allowed to invade their countries and steal their jobs.
romerojpg wrote:most of them cannot even speak english
Do you speak any Polish? No but I bet if you went there you'd insist they speak English to you.
romerojpg wrote:just today one crashed into the curb at about 50 MPH as the idiot left the bus on the low setting and bang we hit a high curb.
:D

Prey tell what the "low setting" is, classic.

To ask the second question that so far no has answered, AFAIK:

Should we adopt a USA style immigration policy? (reasons given in original post).

Low settings on a Bus, if for prams, and disapbled people to get on, they lower the bus for them with pressure and it goes weee when it does (serioeusly). Then they suposed to raise the bus again so they can drive! but rarley they remember to raise it, hence why so many busses are smashed to pieces down below. :)

A bus what's one of those? Get a license like every other fool :D . Seriously an Automatic car is SOOO much easier to drive.

If more driving instructing would plug automatic cars to those who struggle a lot more people would drive. I'm confident I'd still be having lessons now if I still stuck with a manual.

It's not the fact I struggled per say with gears or the clutch (although I freakin' hate the clutch. Do we live in the 1900's?) but the lack of both of them meant I was able to notice things and react quicker than I ever did in a manual. The improvement was instant.

I have been driving for 10 years :D dont want a car, waste of cash, time and energy for me :) I would rather save loads of cash by getting lifts, walking and the bus everywhere. Its only the scum who get to me on the busses.

Fair enough dude. I could've sworn you didn't have a license. Yeah cars are expensive but they're one of those things that you can't do without (speaking generally).

The other point of view: imagine all the time you could save. You save literally hours a day when you can drive somewhere.

p.s - Have you considered a scooter?

They cost £3.50-3.80 for a full tank which should last you a week and can do up to 60mph if you get a 125cc, which you're legally allowed to own after 17. You don't even need a licence. Just a "really" basic training session which lasts the morning. They're ridiculously easy to ride. The examiner on my training session said he's only ever failed one person (a woman in her 80s who he said couldn't even sit on the bike). He asked us some highway code questions, most of which we got wrong but still passed.

Seriously Romero don't compare a motorbike to a scooter.

Sure a 125cc can do 60 but a 100cc (what I owned) toped out at 50mph and really 45mph. A 50cc can only do 30mph, try getting killed at 30mph :D

Sure you could die on a scooter but you could also die in a car. The dangerous aspect is a motorbike doing 80+mph which is never going to happen on a 50cc scooter. It would be much easier than messing with a bus and cost you peanuts (again less than the bus, I bet you spend about £3.50 a day to get to work).

Yeah, but we're trying to send them back now. :D

There's too many of them already.

Because England alone isn't Britain. Britain is three parts, the U.K four. But very often it seems that there's Scotland, Wales and Britain. I've actually heard English say that many times on TV. You probably wouldn't notice it yourself, but Scots are a touch paranoid.
He he true but it's just a flag, big deal.
What an attitude! Where is your national pride, dammit? :D
The government has to be somewhere? I seriously don't think splitting the country would fix any of each countries problems.
Maybe? Maybe not? The government should be in the North of England - the middle of Britain. London is too isolated, both geographically and mentally. People who live in London rarely represent the thoughts of the rest of the UK. London is it's own entity and should probably become a state of it's own.
Rubbish. They may have an English accent (even then it's a very Royal English accent) but don't most Royals have Scottish/Welsh blood.
And don't forget part equestrian... :D

Not just my eyes. Millions think this way. Bullets represents a tiny fraction of political thought. As many - if not more - Britons would agree with me as would you. It's just that the more liberal elements are in positions of power and influence so it seems as though they represent the majority when in reality nothing could be further from the truth.

Most don't have a problem with immigrants, it's the way Britain mis-handles immigration that's the problem. But say that out loud and you're branded a racist. Staves off any proper debate. Expect a shedload from Bulgaria and Romania in the New Year. What will the government do? Sweet fuck all.
As we're legally allowed to invade their countries and steal their jobs.
Like that will happen...?
Do you speak any Polish? No but I bet if you went there you'd insist they speak English to you.
I wouldn't. Well, maybe at first until I learnt enough of the language.

See roughly 50% cheaper on a scooter :D

Thanks I didn't know that 8) . I thought to you it was Britain "and" Scotland
Markgway wrote:But very often it seems that there's Scotland, Wales and Britain. I've actually heard English say that many times on TV. You probably wouldn't notice it yourself, but Scots are a touch paranoid.
Seriously? I reckon "I" would. What recently? Stupid the ignorant fuckers :D . It's interesting you refer to the English as if we're different. You've done this a few times.
Markgway wrote:People who live in London rarely represent the thoughts of the rest of the UK. London is it's own entity and should probably become a state of it's own.
Well true but that's common for EVERY country in the world, in my experience. Amsterdam is nothing at all like the rest of Holland, nothing at all.

Besides all it would mean is wherever the capitol is moved to becoming isolated. It would still be in England so you'd still have a beef with it anyway.
Markgway wrote:Not just my eyes. Millions think this way. Bullets represents a tiny fraction of political thought. As many - if not more - Britons would agree with me as would you.
True. I'm just giving my point of view.
Markgway wrote:It's just that the more liberal elements are in positions of power and influence so it seems as though they represent the majority when in reality nothing could be further from the truth.
To an extent true but not all politicians are liberal.

You're in the minority for even considering to learn the local language.

Most Brits who live abroad in non-English speaking countries get by with speaking the odd local language and then sticking with English.

I've just thought we hear about all the numbers coming in legal and illegally but what about all those who are deported? We never ever hear that number.

Why? Because it doesn't sell newspapers. Seriously I'd like to know, it's as important.

I heard the figure is 90% stay, so that 10% get kicked out, so maybe 40 thousands have been booted out, the fact is the amopunt of criminals that are allowed to stay is the worst thing, they wont lock them up and they wont sedn them back, its bad.

No, I'm saying that's how many English see it.
It's interesting you refer to the English as if we're different. You've done this a few times.
Different to whom? Scots? Well, yeah, you are. :|
Besides all it would mean is wherever the capitol is moved to becoming isolated. It would still be in England so you'd still have a beef with it anyway.
No, I'm not unreasonable. England makes up the majority of the British populace, so it's understandable that the capitol should be in England. Geographically it would ideally be right in the middle. Somewhere like Manchester.
To an extent true but not all politicians are liberal.
No, but that's where the power is. Judges, social workers, councillers, etc; you'll be hard-pressed to find any non-liberal dent in these areas. Aside from disagreeing fundamentally with idealist liberal policy; they rarely know how to run things. Imagine the world being in the control of Guardian-reading University lecturers(!)
Fair point on the first bit you know what I don't reckon you are. I've never heard anyone say "racist" when someone speaks out against immigration or the policies, most as you say agree to much.
I didn't specifically mean here at Bullets. But in politics in general. How many times have you seen on Question Time the question of immigration get raised and anyone who isn't on the left getting branded a facist or being shouted down as "Daily Mail reading scum". One moron actually said this and David Bumblebee never apologised.
You're in the minority for even considering to learn the local language.
Seems obvious to me. Sure, if people can speak English I'd use it, as chances are their English would be better than my Polish. But you need to be able to communicate with the majority. Unless of course you're Asian and live in the UK, in which case you really don't have to bother.
