Who here is a fan of Bey Logan?
I adore this guy's commentaries he made some Jet Li films watchable. He is probably the guy who got me into the HKL brand and I have probably bought some movies exclusively for his commentaries and unfortunatelyin some of them the commentaries were the only decent thing on them. (Purple storm, 2000AD, Project A part 2 to name some). Jude poyer and Miles Wood are not as good as Bey and i doubt i will be buying many HKL films now.

I dont like him. I enjoyed his book when I was younger (a bit outdated by now) and his commentaries are quite informative at time... with lots of on-set stories ... but pretty much all his other activities suck.
He's one of the people responsible for some of the absolute worst movies in HK History. He does screenplays which are horrible, in a National Geographic documentary about martial artists wanting to get into HK Cinema you can see he has a job as casting-director, and he only casts american-asian actors cause they are considered 'cool' by the HK people. Plus many of the movies he's been involved in starred popsingers instead of actors/martial artists.
Whenever he's appeared on-screem, 'acting', he's been horrible.
Plus, he has now sold his soul to Harvey... and it wouldnt surprise me if he's also responsible for the horrible treatment of TYG in North-America...
I'm not gonna say I hate him or anything, cause he might as well be a very very nice guy. Probably is, in fact. But he should stick to the things he's good at, instead of ruining movies with bad casting, bad writing, bad performances, cuts, etc etc.

1. He fast-forwards Jackie Chan flicks to get to the fights. Why is he evil?
2. He thinks it's OK to cut movies for the overseas market.
3. He doesn't like Legend of Zu.
4. He's now working for Miramax.
Can't get more evil than this.
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

Like it or not Bey is a businessman also, he has to think of things from a business point of view too when it comes to distributing movies. I'm sure Bey DOES love HK movies and has probably seen more of them than we've had hot dinners.
I liked his book too (though it is a bit outdated now with some strange comments "Police Story 3 is far better than Police Story 2"- pfff
) Most of his commentaries I've heard have been great.
How does the stuff you've listed make him evil? Its just an opinion. Live with it
Zu Warriors bored me TBH...

Nonsense. Jackie Chan is a legend and has made some truly great works. His comedy may not be to your taste Romero but he CAN act, look at Heart of Dragon, Crime Story, Miracles, some parts of the Police Story movies.
Welcome to the forums Bleeper, I agree with you 100% on the Police Story movies and Project A, Police Story is a classic IMO

Never said he wasnt a LEG END, but hell I know the man has limitations
esspecially latley. I love many of his films, but really cannot say the comedy element has ever graced my good books. Acting wise its harder to say, he can be fine one moment, then the slapstick comes along and ruins it.
Still Bey loves him more than most, if not too much and honestly I am sure he doesnt fast forward his films all the time, esspecially the 1st viewing. Everyone in their life surley has fast forwarded to their best scene, many times so calling him an Idiot because of that (and many other reasons I guess) isnt exactly justified as you can bet cash most people have skipped to a scene in a film on this forum.
Bey is an aquired taste, but commentaries and documentaries are always a joy with the man. I have Kill Zone ready to listen to the commentary, hopefully he will be as good as he ever was as hell al these companies wouldnt want him if he wasnt popular, Shaws esspecially is a good thing to have him comentate on.

Who edited my post? I didnt write that.Yi-Long wrote:Yeah but those times that Jackie made entertaining movies are long gone...
But yeah, also says something about that he is only interested in seeing the action-scenes. Seems like he and Bey are a perfect match. Idiots.

1. You
2. Mordib - I can't say for sure of course but he seriously isn't the sort of guy to sneakily amend people's posts.
3. Tom - He's already said it was not him and again he's not the sneaky type.
4. Toge - In my experience he has said when he's changed something.
5. Me - And I can assure you I didn't even know this thread existed until Tom PM'ed me asking I comment. I'm trying to make a point of looking at Bullets less during the week.
You say yourself you're not 100% sure, you can be confrontational sometimes. The evidence is stacked against you
I've written things before and forgotten I wrote them, especially if I'm tired or drunk.
Ask yourself this, in all the years you've been visiting has any mod amended your posts without owning up to it? It's simply not what the Bullets mods are like.
I've been tempted to muck about with people's display pictures but only in my head I'd never actually do it (it would be funny though
Thank you. I'm pleased some people know me well enough to see I wouldn't be that sneaky.EvaUnit02 wrote:Brad would never do something like that.
If I am going to edit someone's post I will ALWAYS make sure I say it was me and why.
Not at all. It's a pity you have no faith or trust in us. I'm surprised you'd say something like thatBiscLimpkit wrote:Well obviously it'll be another moderator.
It's not changed since Tom was anointed, please have a look in this thread (it's even a sticky in this Asian forum btw, please also take a look):BiscLimpkit wrote:I've stopped caring about who's a mod now... but I dunno - could be either Toge, Brad or Tom?
