9/11: The Day the World Stood Still - 5th Anniversary

Post by EvaUnit02 »

We must bow our heads and pay our respects to all the lives that were lost in Manhattan on that terrible day 5 years ago. Freedom & democracy suffered a violent blow on that day, but The Great Nation rose again like a vengeful phoenix from the ashes and rightly rained fire down onto the evildoers.

Pfft, innocent collateral damage my arse, everyone of those people sought to undermine the fundamentals of Western Civilisation and their deaths were just.

The Great Nation may have compromised a lot of their people's civil rights, but it is justified in the Global War on Terrorism.

Being a mod prevents me from saying how I really feel about 9/11, so I'm just gonna laugh:

Can't believe some people actually bought the official cover story.

Let's not forget...

- 9/11 was an inside job.
- Iraq had nothing to do with it.

Let's remember the pain 9/11 caused so much people...

... and then realize we're now doing the same to 100 times as many people, by bombing their wifes, husbands, fathers, mothers, children, dogs, cats, grandmas, grandpas, etc etc...

Why?

Money. Oil. Weapons.

Yeah... let's not forget. Let's not forget how 3000 deaths on 9/11 were used to make money off more dead people. How they were used to send our children, brothers, sisters overseas to fight in an unjust war, just to make rich people even richer.

I sure as hell won't

I feel bad for everyone who lost a loved one in 9/11 and the whole aftermath. Very bad.
But there's no doubt in my mind that even though Bin laden might be responsibe for killing those 3000 people... the US goverment have taken those 3000 victims, assraped their lifeless bodies for their own agenda, and thus being able to kill thousands upon thousands upon thousands of innocent people overseas.

Why do I hate America? You tell me...

Let us not forget 9/11 was before Iraq and Afghanistan. So was the WTC bombing in 1993. So was the attack on passanger aircraft in the US by Palestine militants in the 70's.
Those firefighters, and others who died were brave men, who lost their lives doing their job, and for no reason :(
Now is not the time for vitrol. :(

Why dishonor their deaths by closing our eyes for the truth!?

Like I said, my thoughts go out to all the victims and people left behind from this disaster... but when you mention 9/11 you also gotta acknowledge how their deaths have been used for Bush' personal agenda, which had NOTHING to do with taking revenge for these people, but had everything to do with making money by killing more innocent people, on the other side of the world.

It's not ME who is disrespectfull to these victims. It's Bush and his cronies.

i agree with Yi and Tom,

i feel sorry for all the innocent people caught up in this attack, sadly they (and us) are just pawns for bush's agenda, they shouldnt have been killed like that.

but as Yi said, closing your eyes to the truth doesnt help people, it just allows more and more people to die for no reason...

Well, I agree with Grim :D The reasons for 9/11 have got nothing to do with this thread, the purpose of this thread is not to debate the politics leading up to and succeeding 9/11. It is to remember the thousands who died on sept 11th 2001.

You want to start a rant about the Bush administration that's fair enough, but do it in its own thread, don't step on the toes of the people who just want to remember the lives lost in this one incident - and don't patronise anyone by claiming you're opening their eyes to the truth. I assure you, you're not. :thumbright:

Thankyou Shingster :)
We know Bush is an idiot, an a**hole, doesn't mean you cannot remember those thousands who died on 11/9/2001. How am I and most of NY closing our eyes?

Poppycock, I just have the good taste to:

1. Keep a remembrance of the thousands died on Sept 11th seperate from my genuine dislike of the Bush administration and their policies - not to mention our own government!
2. Not descend into cheap anti-american sentiments.

Yi/Tom, whatever the rights and wrongs of Iraq/everything else, today should be about reflecting and paying respect to those who died on 9/11, which was the point of this thread I believe (though I don't like Eva's ironic tone as you go down the post which sounds like a rant).

Paying respect is good, explaining why they really died is better.

IMHO.

I would say that separate threads can be (and have been) made about that. Leave this one for anyone who wishes to use it for remembrance, and use one of the many others to get pissed off about other things :)

On a side note, enough with the faux-patriotism, Eva. I'm not keen on hugely overt displays of genuine patriotism (it being a virtue of the vicious according to Sean Connery quoting Oscar Wilde :)). The pics that you post, which initially had a touch of irony to them, no longer do, which makes them kinda pointless.

Well... the thing is... you say it's 2 seperate things, while it's 1 thing.
You say remember and honor the innocent victims of 9/11 (which I do), but at the same time, you say to NOT remember how those SAME people were used as an excuse to kill more innocent people.

The thread is about remembering 9/11, right? Then remember ALL of it. If you ONLY go ;'ow... thats so sad,.... so many people died', and thats ALL you remember, then you're doing them a disservice...
Cause you forget their dead bodies were ass-raped by the Bush administration for their own agenda, pretty much the very next day (when Bush told his staff to give him something to pin this on Saddam. Anything. His people told Bush that there was absolutely no reason or indication to believe Saddam had anything to do with this, and Bush wouldnt hear of it. So FACT: He used 9/11 for his own agenda: money and power)

I really don't wish to be drawn too far into this, but I in no way said that the others that have died as a direct or indirect result of the attacks on 11th of September shouldn't be remembered. Those that have indirectly perished as a result of the events should be remembered just as fervently, if not moreso.
What I did say was that this thread should be used for rememberance only. It isn't ALL you should remember, no, but it is ALL that should be discussed in this thread. We have plenty of other threads to discuss the 'why' and 'how' of five years ago and its repercussions.
Anyone that wishes to pay their respects should be able to, without getting into an argument like this, in this thread.

I'm not sure why I'm bothering though; it's not like this thread was started with the best of intentions anyway...

Agree with Kurgan.

For once can we lay the sarcasm and political rants aside and remember the dead of 9/11 on its anniversary.

No one here has forgotten all the other victims in the "war on terror". It's not like we've all joined the Bush fanclub in the interim. But to play one set of victims off another for the sake of cheap (and obvious) political jabs is as unecessary as it is offensive.

All the innocent dead be remembered.

There's absolutely NOTHING offensive about anything I wrote (in this thread)

The thread is about remembering 9/11. Well... I remember it as an excuse to go to war.
OBVIOUSLY (and I think I have stated this in ALL my posts in this thread), those lifes that were lost on 9/11 were innocent and I feel deeply sorry for them and their families...

And I wasnt looking for a huge discussion, because, as mentioned before, we have all discussed this tons of times before... but if people are gonna write about how they remember 9/11, I might as well say how I will remember 9/11.

NOTHING disrespectfull to all the people that were killed, hurt or lost loved ones... but the Bin Laden attack on America wasnt the only crime that happened that day... (ofcourse I mean that Bush and his buddies planned right from the get-go, and probably even before, that they would use this disasterous attack, for their own agenda...)

So when I see the images these days on TV, with Bush and Rumsey and Cheney all reacting to this, I feel betrayed. I feel like I am being lied to. We're being lied to. So that makes me very very angry. Cause their responses and what we know now, mixed with all those people on stretchers and gasping for air and covered with grey dust, and all those families in the days after 9/11 still hoping their loved ones will re-appear from under the wreckage... it's sickening.

So that's how I remember 9/11. I'm not looking for a discussion or whatever. Everyone here can say RIP to the victims and all that... and how THEY remember 9/11 ... but I just shared how I remember it. and that's all there is to it.

And there's no fucking way in hell that that's offensive to any of the victims or their families. If you do feel it is, then you're either an idiot, or you're misreading my posts (on purpose?) which seems to be a tradition here on BNB.

Now I'm warning you guys. Dont make me ban you over this...

;)

Anyway, back on topic in a different way. Just been watching these documentaries and items on TV on this again thes elast couple of days... and man... we were really witnessing something MAJOR in History, live on TV...
Back then, I was on my PC with CNN on the TV in the background, and so I really experienced from start to finish. I saw the Breaking news come up right after the 1st plane had hit the building, and then obviously minutes later you just saw the 2nd plane fly into the building, live on TV.

And it's just incredible now seeing all those images again. Horryfying obviously, grown men and women in shock, crying, running...

Those buildings coming down and the HUGE dust and debris...
That HUGE dustcloud taking over New York...

They are some very strong images. We've seen them hundreds of times, but now that they are broadcast all day long again... and all the relatives and survivors and everything else... it really takes you back...

Where were all you guys when you learned of what happened?
