Post by grim_tales »

I'd really like to see some of the highlights of this :o 13-0 is just amazing and damn impressive, a European record. And Germany were playing in San Marino :o
Last night we beat Macedonia but I felt it was a nervy game, oh well. Yet another goal for Crouchy :D
Scotland also won so congrats 8)

I saw that on the BBC website, most impressive. Isn't it a world record not just European?

I heard it was just European. The highest score ever in a football game was something like 36-0.

36-0 in ONE 90 minute game, without penalty shoot outs? Who was playing?

Puts on Trivia Hat: Well, it was a Scots game in the ninetheenth century. In 1885, Bon Accord stayed on the pitch even though they were losing 10-0 to Arbroath at half-time. After the break they simply got tired, and let in yet more goals. The final score wound up being 36-0 to Arbroath - the highest score ever recorded in a professional football game. As to whether it was a 90 minute game, I guess it was 90 minutes, back then of course played far less games a season than they do now.

Trivia Hat off :D

Thanks.

So was the 13-0 the highest recorded for a country?
