Ok, I know I've asked this before, but having just come back from travelling all my cables have got mixed up in the packing.
I've hooked up my freeview box and dvd player to my TV by scart cables, and have the TV aerial going into the freeview box and also from the freeview box to the TV.
When I watch TV on the freeview box or watch a DVD, both are done via scart but on both I'm getting ghosting from the TV channel.
How do I get rid of this again?
I've got this info about the pins of a scart socket:
1 - RH audio out
2 - RH audio in
3 - LH audio out
4 - audio common, 0 volts
5 - blue return 0 volts
6 - LH audio in
7 - blue out
8 - funcion switch out/ 16-9 switching
9 - green return
10 - not connected
11 - green out
12 - not connected
13- red return
14 - not connected
15- red out
16 - RGB return
17- composite video com
18 - RGB switch
19 - composite video out
20 - composite video in
21 - 0 volts general return
Are all these right? Do I just cut pin 19 on the scart cables going into the TV? Will that work?
Can someone let me know please!!!??
Cheers!

A switch box is pointless in this situation as I'm guessing from the way degeneration has worded his post that he has 2 SCART inputs on his TV, one for the DVD & one for the digibox.
Have you tried moving the SCARTs away from each other & the aerial cables? That can cause interference. I've never had to remove a pin before to get rid of interference & I've done a lot of installs...

think I recall reading somewhere else that the interference comes from crossover with the tv aeriel cable, or something like that... something like a leaky signal that gets picked up by the scart cable.
I've had it before and cut one of the inner cables in the scart cable and that's got rid of it. Has happened on my girlf's, my parents and my brothers tv/dvd set up.

yeah it is mainly visible when the screen is just one colour, particularly black. I mainly notice the vertical lines which are the edge of the channel that is interfering scrolling across the screen. If you've got your tv on a white noise channel when you go to the AV scart channel for the dvd player the interference isn't as bad, but the DVD picture looks a lot more grainy and not as sharp as a result. Or at least it does to me.
Grim, I'm pretty sure what you need to do to get rid of it, and it is what I am going to be doing to my system, is open up the TV end of your scart cable and find the little cable inside that coresponds to pin 19. Cut it and it should be fixed. Will be easy enough for you to see the difference. Get a DVD and pause it on a black screen, you may be able to see the interference on screen. Then do the cutting thing, and when you plug your scart cable back in again, the interference should be gone.
