Massive Warner & Lion's Gate sales at Deepdiscountdvd

Post by EvaUnit02 »

Massive Warner & Lion's Gate sales at Deepdiscountdvd. Doesn't say when they end, at the end of the month I'd assume (history dictates).

"Save Up To 49% On Select Warner Titles - Over 1,200 Titles to Choose From!"

"Save Up To 46% On Select Lionsgate Titles - Over 500 Titles to Choose From!"
"Save 58% On Select Warner Classics!"

Those aren't Lionsgate DVDs. Do you have the proper link? I don't get their newsletter.

That WB link is good but 88 pages come on, talk about badly formatted.

I've just been through the entire list and the following appeal:

Matchstick Men
The Aviator
American History X
Bonnie and Clyde

But mostly just "Matchstick Men"

My Dad already has "The Aviator" so I can borrow that. The R3 Aviator has some exclusive interviews and has Full-rate DTS but because of this is split across 2 discs so no thanks. I'd rather DTS was dropped unless the film really needs to be split.

But I'll wait to see that Lionsgate list is like???

EDIT: The Avtiator is only £7.45 from dvd.co.uk and Matchstick Men £4.49 also from dvd.co.uk.

BTW Brad, if a link ain't working any more then it's likely that the sale is over.

I just noticed that there's an $6.98 each MGM sale going on but that ends tomorrow on the 21st, so be in quick.

Anyway I grabbed:-
Carrie SE (has the original mono) - De Palma
Dressed to Kill SE (best DVD globally) - De Palma
Blow Out - De Palma
Leaving Las Vegas (best DVD of this around, OAR anamorphic + DD5.1) - Christ, I pray that this ain't unwatchable Dogme 95-influenced pretentious rubbish like Mike Figgis' other films.
Salam Bombay - Mira Nair (best DVD globally)
Mad Max SE (best DVD globally, ignore the R4 w/ the DTS track. This trumps it by far)

Titles you might like to consider:-
Hotel Rwanda; early Kubrick films:- Killer's Kiss, The Killing and Paths of Glory (latter two are supposed to be superb); Cronenberg's Scanners and his first masterpiece The Brood; Bad Influence - from Curtis Hanson, highly-rated early 90's "<insert> from hell" thriller (shit there were a lot of those back then:- Hand that Rocks the Cradle, Single White Female, Sleeping with the Enemy) with reportedly excellent performances from Rob Lowe and James Spader (great character actor Spader is - go watch Boston Legal and Season 9 of The Practice).

Thanks but it's the wrong link. It goes to another sale entirely.

I'm pretty sure that it's over. When one sale ends, DDD reuse the link for a new sale usually.

i'd strongly recommend the Dressed To Kill dvd.superb film & a top class dvd,has the unrated version as an option.beware the mgm scanners i've heard it suffers from lip synch issues unless it's a repressing.
