i gotta say in most cases i agree. there are the majority that just dont give a fuck about being smart they'd rather be thin and "pretty" than have an ounce of intelligence...but there are the people who are smart and who try hard to succeed through education

ok for me education i hate it, but its the only way to survive in this society is to have that piece of paper saying you have a degree in this or that...if it wasnt i wouldnt be in college now....

but to work your ass off to get a good grade, and then be told that actually they think its just because people made the exams easier is just bollocks. i bet if they tried to do an A-level now they wouldnt find it as easy as they think, actually thre was something about this, they got people who thought A-level exams were easy to take them...they all failed...but i dunno when this was my dad just mentioned reading it somewhere....

i have 4 A-levels and next year am studying for my 5th and possibly 6th.and they arent easy. but i know that i have got a better chance of getting into university if have them than if i dont.. the only problem i have in exams is i cant write my thoughts down as well as they are in my head so i screw up on that...even though i know the stuff exams just suck, unless im really competant in the subject. my history AS that i took in Jan i never revised for and got an A but then i like hisotry and it comes easy to me...now i just gotta wait for my full AS grade to come through! damn post... but its annoying that we dont get credit for our intelligence because people are afriad to admit that maybe some young people have some intelligence and can comeptalntly finish college and university...

Yeah, that's it. You know Scottish education better than I do.

I'm not convinced by the increase in pass marks. I think that's down to dumbing down and manipulation of govt figures.

Last year I saw aan article in a newspaper which posted an exam paper from last year and one from about 50 years ago and the old one was MUCH harder. Truth is the govt just wants to get everyone into Uni so they lower the bar. Not surprising really.

The implication was that as part of the dumbed down generation I was talking about you were too dumb to go to college and thus would have to rely on your looks. I chose pole dancer rather than stripper so as to reduce the likelihood of offence. I needn't have bothered.
