No US distributor has the rights to NPS because Jackie has refused to sell to any studio

That's what i've heard many times, but imdb and other sources have mentioned a 2006 Miramax DVD release. (?!)

Are you sure that's the reason Mark? Surely Jackie could say I'll sell it you but you must agree to not chance it in any way?

The thing is he's sold NPS to HKL and that is no 100% guarantee of it not being messed around with. It's a pretty safe bet (considering it's a HK film) I agree but not 100%.

I sometimes think HKL and PA are run by completely different companies.

Maybe he could. But I think he's been burned.

HKL won't fuck with the movie and I bet Bey (who I think worked on NPS at some level?) vouched for them.

I also thought of posting this into the "Brett Ratner about "Rush Hour 3" - Tom will like it - topic, which is more recent, but I think this one is better suited, because Rush Hour 3 now really seems to be a go!

According to Jackie´s official homepage, he and director Brett Ratner toured Paris looking for locations:

That photo is an older one. At the time Jackie is wearing his hair rather short - just as he did in "The Myth".

They can't force Jackie to do Rush Hour 3.

He wants the pay cheque and the box office.

"The Medallion" wasn't an American film. I liked the "Rush Hour"-films as buddy films, but not as Jackie-Chan-movies. The US movie I liked the best with him is "Shanghai Noon" as filmwise it really stands out from the others (cinematography, art design, soundtrack etc.)

I thought Shanghai Noon was pretty dire, long and boring. I did like it's sequel, Shanghai Knights. Better pacing, better humour and better fights. Too bad the fights were still cut

always thought the medallion was a joint hong kong/usa production.

at the end of the day it could a russian movie,it was still atrocious and jackie's worst since fantasy mission force :twisted:

Gasteropod do you mean Shanghai Noon is better than Shanghai Knights?

I enjoyed both "Noon" and "Knights", much preferred them to both Rush Hours. Better fights/comedy and a more likeable sidekick (IMHO).
