Use NUMBER 3 in the e-tailors thread to get a £1 Voucher Code then use NUMBER 4 in the same thread which will knock £1 off via a Voucher Link.

Then checkout with something in your cart and paste the code e-mailed to you using NUMBER 3. You don't need to click on the link from the e-mail, as it states.

£1 Voucher link + £1 Voucher code = £2 off!

Yeah, there's even option which points out where the restored footage is, and it's mentioned in the commentary.
Is it anamorphic with some of the extras/all of them?
It's 16:9, V.G picture as far as my untrained eyes could tell. I don't know if ALL the extras are there - do you have a list? - but there's enough for me. I don't see me buying another version.

Nope I was only interested to hear it had some (namely the commentary). I suspect it's about equal to the Scandinavian DVD but that's hard to source.

It beats the Japanese DVD that's the main thing. Odd for Germany of all countries to get it uncut.

Its Uncut everywhere, except UK. The ONLY reason the German dvd is the one people are going for it, is becuase it has an extra dvd.

I meant Frighteners by the way, oops :D

Scream, well no good version is available, yet. The tenth anniversary edition will change that.

The theatrical version is censored here, but not the extended version.

Yeah, which is quite a bonus since it's the only one to contain the remastered theatrical cut (the best version of the film and true director's cut).

The German version is just dandy and I can't imagine what can be added to an anniversary edition to improve it. How many extras do people need?

Here's a list from the OFDB:

Audiokommentar von Wes Craven und Kevin Williamson
Trailer: Deutsch (1:52 Min.)
Trailer: Englisch (1:53 Min.)
TV-Spots (6:59 Min.)
Behind the Scream - Featurette (31:33 Min.)
Outtakes (4:12 Min.)
Behind the Scenes
- Auf dem Set von Scream (3:24 Min.)
- Drew Barrymore (2:51 Min.)
Probeaufnahmen (7:39 Min.)
Die längeren Szenen (Anwählbare Szenen aus der Unrated Fassung mit Beschreibung auf Texttafeln.)
Featurette (6:11 Min.)
Special Effects Galerie
Frage und Antwort mit dem Filmteam
- Was ist ihr lieblings Gruselfilm? (2:44 Min.)
- Was fasziniert Leute so an Horrorfilmen? (2:30 Min.)
Wissenswertes (Texttafeln)
Weitere Trailer
- Million Dollar Baby (2:29 Min.)
- Mr. und Mrs. Smith (2:24 Min.)
- The Toolbox Murders (1:32 Min.)
- Submerged (1:51 Min.)
- Antikörper (1:38 Min.)

I found that image conmparison.

The Kinowelt image is better than the Japanese - EXCEPT during the unrated footage which I can only assume was sourced from an inferior master? As this amounts to little more than six seconds I wouldn't worry too much. If the Weinstiens remaster this HD-style (as Romero keeps suggesting) it should offer significant picture improvement.

There's no R1 Scream 10th Anniversary Edition coming IIRC. The artwork floating around for that is a badly photoshopped hoax.

Bollocks, Frighteners TC is cut everywhere except in R1 and in the recent German 4-discer. It's a case of BBFC's cuts being imposed on every other PAL R2/4 country cuz Universal are lazy and everyone gets the same pressed discs (that's why they use player-generated captions).

It won't be the Weinstien's as they've jumped ship from Disney.

@ Everyone: Can you remember to add the film you're talking about when we're discussing more than one. It's incredibly confusing otherwise.

@ Everyone: So "only" the German DVD contains both cuts right? and the R1/UK R2/R4 SE's ONLY contain the Extended Cut NO Director's Cut, also right?

I'd say the Kinowelt looks better even during the DC footage. The R4 has DTS but that's not enough to make anyone want to buy it, over the German DVD.

They took the rights to the Dimension catalogue with them.

Fair point.

Sorry, which film are you talking about...?

The answer is yes.

The R4 is cut as per most releases and apparently the uncut Scandanavian is letterboxed. I thought the Kinowelt showed signs of combing during the restored shots suggesting they may have been taken from an inferior source? The extra footage only totals 6 secs believe it or not.

from imdb:
The US LaserDisc version contains the director's cut with ca. 20 seconds of restored footage that was originally cut to avoid being slapped with the NC-17 by the MPAA. It also has commentary by director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson. In the commentary, Craven notes five places where his cut differs from the theatrical release

It says 6 secs on the DVD cover and that seems closer to me. Count for yourself. Here's my estimate.

1. Shot of Steve's guts pouring out (1.5 sec)
2. Discovery of Casey hanging played without frame cuts (1.5 sec)
3. Tatum's head being crushed in close-up (1 sec)
4. Kenny looking up after realising his throat has been slashed (1.5 sec)
5. Billy slashing Stu twice extra on camera (2 sec)
6. Stu's hand dripping into a pool of blood (1.5 sec)

That's guesswork and not counting frames. About 8 secs in total maybe?

I don't know where they got 20 secs from but it's been perpetuated throughout the internet.

Scream

PAL speed up would have something to do with those time differences.

This is the Scream DVD right? -

http://www.cd-wow.com/detail_results_2. ... code=21645

Are the German subs removable? The Korean DVD with less extras than the German DVD is also said to be the DC (it does have the commentary though).

The German subs are removeable for everything.

PAL speed-up would make only a few frames difference since it would have to be 24 extra secs to gain 1 new sec. 6-10 secs extra would only be a fraction of that.

Has it shipped Shen or still on order? Have you tried e-mailing them? I know Romero never gets replies but bar literally 1-2 times I've always had a reply within a few hours.
