As entertainment, the match was fun :D For a World Cup match, it was appalling, all the diving and fouls (the Dutch players did a lot of diving) and general aggro and cheating was awful. To be fair the players also have to be blamed for this as well as the ref, who was as Yi says was pretty bad, even worse than Graham Poll.
Terribe play included Figo's headbutt as Mark says among other things, why didnt the ref see it??
Deco (?) was an idiot, taking the ball away like that when the Dutch were taking a free kick. He knows he's already on a yellow, and what he did was an offence.

Rooney and Joe Cole were good in the Ecuador game, good free kick by Becks. England could have no better chance to beat Portugal :D

According to Sky Sports news, Figo has been cleared to play despite his blatant headbutt which the ref didn't see!
Ridiculous! :?

Italy are cheating bastards.

For the Aussies to go out in the 93rd minute because of a penatly given for a blatant dive is shocking.

A shame.

Goddamn world cup. AGAIN a team goes out (Australia) because of a dumb-ass referee. Great(!)
As soon as the ref blew his whistle for that penalty, Hiddink should have just called all his men off the pitch ...

Fuck Fifa. When the HELL are they FINALLY going to make this game a bit fairer by using video-evidence for decisions like this!?

Not many games/teams left for me that are interesting to watch. Shit like these bad refs and bad calls and diving bastards are just ruining it for me...

And yesterday's ref in the Holland Portugal game was no doubt bad, but he wasnt worse then Poll. I read a statement today that up till fridays mistake of giving a guy 3 times a yellow card before sending him off, he had been an excellent referee: I FUCKING DOUBT IT. Poll was an idiot all match long, make dumbass decisions one after the other, including 2 CLEAR penalties that should have been given to the Australians but weren't.

Ah well... another big tournament which has the wrong teams going through due to bad refereeing. Not really surprising, considering it's been this way for far too long.

Yeah when I was in the shower the other day, I started thinking that FIFA may actually be wankers. I wasn't sure though but it's probably true.

Switzerland vs Ukraine = Zzzzzz Zzzzz

Most boring match on the planet. I had a hunch it would be goal-less so I decided to catch up on a few episodes of Lost and watch the penalty shootouts. No sympathy for Switz but I reckon Ukraine are gonna get gubbed in the next round.

Terrible game. I wish I'd done something else...
Italy are going to hammer the Ukraine.

Oh, and Poll's always been a wanker.

Let's put this awful match out of mind and think on to Brazil-Ghana and Spain-France. :)

I hope Ghana beats Brazil and goes on to win the World Cup. although I'd also like the Germans to win it.

Spain-France: france has sucked all tournament long so I hope they will get demolished by Spain.

I agree Kurgan/Mark, the Swiss/Ukraine game was crap. Would be nice if Ghana beat Brazil - anything could happen, I mean Ghana convincingly beat the Czechs.
Luis Figo of Portugal has not been banned despite his clear headbutt in the Holland game (!) FIFA idiots!
Apparently he got off because he'd already got a yellow card for it, never mind that it deserved a straight red (!)

Portugal attempted to overturn Deco's red card, but sorry, no dice. The fake-Portugese short-arse stays off during the England game :)

I thought it was ridiculous for Deco to get sent off for picking up the ball. Especially since a Dutch player got away with throwing him over a second later.

Brazil-Ghana 2-0. Yet another mistake by the linesman causing an offside goal by Adriano to be OK-ed(!)

These referees and linemen have too big an influence on the outcome of games :N

If Ghana has any balls they'll decide to change their clothes and leave the stadium, instead of showing up for the 2nd half. Screw FIFA.

Deco got booked for a) time wasting
b) Not giving the ball back to the Dutch player to take a free kick. It wasnt just picking up the ball :)

Aye the dude on the radio was going on about linesman fuck ups. I don't think half these dudes know what offside actually is.

Unlucky Ghana...

Henry is a cheating bastard and should be ashamed of himself. What a lying twat.

I hate the French team now, to an extent that I would be willing to support England if they played them. :x

Also I'm pissed that I just lost a quid.

To be fair, France really upped their game from their opening matches. They were terrible to begin with.

I thought Zidane wasn't as good as his usual self; obviously his goal helps his rating get a boost :)
Until tonight, I couldn't see why Ribéry was in the squad. Previous matches he was crap, but he worked hard all through this game.

Would you give someone a second yellow card for foul B?

I wouldn't.

A free kick and a warning.

Besdies, as soon as Deco picked up the ball he was decked by a Dutch player, so I'm not sure how he could've given it back, short of passing the ball whilst being bundled through the air?
