hey,

I'm not challenging the rules, don't worry...do believe Wake Of Death was shot in Europe though but pinning down locations is tricky...writing Italy, Spain or whatever would've created even MORE confusion. ;)

Well, last time my movie was Bourne Identity, and I said it was 'european' and that got criticised by some because they felt it was still a hollywood movie, so I just went with hollywood this time ;)

And LD, as far as I'm concerned you can post a pic from wherever you like, as I feel it's a bit of a stupid rule, but some will probably complain. :)

Just use your best judgment, LD. The new rule was put into place to prevent a runaway game between only two players who were, say, experts in obscure Japanese cinema, for example. ;)

Exactly, it's not a stupid rule. The whole purpose is for us to seek diversity in our choice of films.

There appears to be some confusion as to what defines a film's country of origin. As far as I am concerned, the location of filming is irrelavent. It all depends on the studios involved.

For example - Harry Potter is not a British film, despite being set in the UK and featuring predominantly British actors. Warner Brothers are an American company, so the film is therefore Hollywood.

Bourne Identity is likewise Hollywood, as is Wake of Death.

So LD, you'll have choose a grab that is not Hollywood. Please continue.

PS: Please note that it is not mandatory to mention the country of origin.

I agree that the country of origin should be based on the studio that financed the movie.

Using Mulholland Drive as an example, IMDb lists the country as France / USA. Since country of origin is optional, you could either list those two countries, or nothing at all.
