A reasonable number of goals have come from pushing forward from midfield, as well as being struck by Stevie G :)
Rooney will play upfront by himself for while and will get replaced by 2 metre Peter at the 70-minute mark (ish) (:D) or if Sven's willing to chance it, Theo. If we're struggling (as in losing the game), then he may switch back to 4-4-2, but who knows? He's not the best manager in the world now, is he? :)

Thats' the thing, tactically he isn't, however his tournament record with us is actually pretty good when you think about it. :)
I think the only way he'll bring Theo mon is if we're struggling, Sven has put Carrick in as a holding midfielder (?) - (well midfield anyway), he should give Lennon a chance later in the game also IMO.

hey,

Total ass whopping, folks. Enjoy it. 0-2 against Germany after 20 minutes.

Although no one in their right mind would've expected us to pose any threat to Germany. We happened to have a good to so-so half against England but time will tell if that was a sign of strength...;) No team effort, no individual skills even...just limp. Auf wiedersehen!

Aye Sweden are getting butt raped. However, the red card seemed a little harsh. Is the ref a sadist? I could've sworn I saw him smile like a little boy discovering boobies for the first time.

God awful penalty. But the Swedes weren't going to win anyway.

hey,

when Henrik has wristed all his other penalties in life, he decides to go for power...says it all. Anyway, fully expected, not disappointed. Germany looks sharp and bubbling with energy.

Cant believe Sweden didnt play Elmander and Rosenberg. Wilhemsson has been shite all tournament, Zlatan as well, and Ljungberg was also shite yet still managed to somehow score a goal...
Shite performance from Sweden this whole tournament, and Germany goes through deservedly.

hey,

our coach went with the tactic that well known players generate fear and respect. Riiiight.....how about getting them to perform as well? Players mentioned would've given us energy, considering we had none before.

The way the German's hounded the ref to get a Swedish player sent off (then one player patting him on the back as if to say well done) was pretty poor IMO

I dunno about you guys but I'm getting a tingling sensation in my gonads watching the Argentina Mexico game. Run into extra time as well. Seriously sexy stuff.

Yeah, fantastic goal by Argentina, reminiscent of Joe Cole v Sweden.
I'd say 2-1 or 3-1 England today. We should beat Ecuador but England have shown they don't play well in the heat.

The commentator said was better, probably was because Argentina's goal was in a more pressurised situation and the guy hit it with his weaker foot.

How many cards?!

I hope Portugal win, because it'll mean England will play a severely weakened Portugese team, which stands us in good stead for the games after :D

The worst match in the history of football.
Too many yellow cards early in the game = Bad news for all the players.
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

I think that was 16 yellow cards, 4 reds. So much agro lol. Portugal probably don't even have a team left for the next game.

LOL! What an idiotic match this was. Holland were miles better than Portugal. Idiots. More than 20 shots on the goal.

Yep, another match wasted by a fucked up ref. Great going(!)
good goal by Portugal but the 2nd half they were more busy time-wasting and faking injuries instead of actually playing football. Normally 6 minutes injurytime would be frowned upon, but here we could just as well had 15 minutes of injurytime...

Next match is Portugal vs England: I dont give a shit who wins that. Both teams havent deserved to come this far.

Holland should have entered a swimming competition as they seem to specialise in diving.

Great entertainment. I love when games descend into sheer lunacy. :D

Figo should've been red carded for that headbutt, and so should the Dutch player who stamped on Ronaldo's thigh early on.

Not enough red cards methinks. 8)
