Its the one Mark had on old Bullets.
Some of the Greek girls in "Enigma" bar were quite nice, one had a nice face and smile, the other had [laddish mode]nice boobs[/laddish mode off] (She was quite good looking as well).

Beer came in large frosted mugs/glasses - excellent on a hot day/evening

Its' actually worse than Greece because the heat is closer.

Still, not as cold as Britain in even the Spring. It was below zero when I was over there in '96.

Just came back from school, tried having a talk with my mentor but he was 'too busy'. Then I went to have a talk with the woman in charge of things, explained what happened and all that,and now I'll have to put it all on paper and she will make sure they will look into it...
(for those who missed it: groupproject went wrong, not my fault, got a bad grade, could mean I dont get a diploma)

School sucks, and relying on other people also sucks. Sometimes those trenchcoat mafia kinda guys make a whole lot more sense...
You can totally understand people flipping out over crap like this. Especially when school, and certain teachers, do not take THEIR responsibity when something goes wrong for/because of them, yet students who run into some problems are only judged on the result, so if school doesnt have any working printers, meaning I cant print my stuff, they will still flunk you ...

Why the fuck even pay school/tuition money if they cant use it right?

there was a big thing about uni's here, kids who'd studied all through the course then somethign happened and tutors went on strike and thye couldnt/cant take their final exams and therefore wont get their degree. i think it was something like that i know there was a piece on the news and the students were understandably so pissed off with them sicne they studied for years and then got nothign at the end of it...

Fucking teachers nowadays. in Holland they hardly teach anymore anyway... It's all projects and supervising and all that shit. I'd rather just have normal lessons where I learn new cool stuff, but apparently that wasnt good enough or something...
Fucking bullshit schools.

I'll probably homeschool my kids if I have that chance.

i agree, if i ever had kids i would homeschool them too, atleast i know they would be taught properly and relevant things non of the bullshit stuff.

In this school, I also learned way more from the stuff I did on my own, then I did from the stuff we got at school...

If this school has one anything, it has succeeded in demotivating and limiting me artistically...
I really wanted to learn stuff like digital art and all that shit, but we got nothing like that at all...

I fucking hate school.

Exactly. School is way too much bullshit. I've always learned more from trips to wherever, then I did at school.

from the start school has taught me little stuff of importance, my mum and dad taught me to read and write before i even started school. i learned the regular stuff that has limited use in today society. actually i learnt more through reading my own books outside of school that i ever really did inside of school...in the last year of highschool i began reading my own books during classes which pissed of the tutors (jiddu krishnamurti and the likes) and i still managed to get all A's and B's in my exams even thouh i didnt really pay attention to the stuff....and lol they were pretty hard stuff and they want to now make the highschool exams multiple choice questions so bascially you can guess yor way through and pass, atleast we had to write an answer and analyze stuff lol.

and i thoroughly agree about liming artisitc creation, i took fine are in highschool and college, and i hated being told what to draw and how to draw it. they dont give you the freedom to express yourself and if you happen to take this upon yourself to be creative your grades suffer for it. its damn stupid.

Couldnt agree more with most of the stuff you wrote. Only I didnt get good grades. I just did OK in school. Didnt go to the lessons very often if it didnt interest me much, and scored B's and C's without learning but just from what I've picked up, or just using my own brain to figure stuff out on my own.

Art in school sucks. It really does. I just wanna learn to draw people and realistic stuff, yet somehow we have to fingerpaint and use all kinds of other crappy materials, and make abstract crap and all that. And then when you try to make some abstract stuff, the kids who just fuck around get high grades, and when you actually have a plan behind the madness, the teach says it's crap...which it is. Cause most abstract stuff is pretty crap. At least at school it is.

Gawd I so fucking hate school. I dont even mind LEARNING and traveling 3 hours each day, but if nobody teaches, and everything else at school isnt functioning as it should, it really makes you want to drop out or whatever.

I really wanna learn new stuff and improve and get more knowledge and all that... but when that's not happening at school, then what's the use?
People keep telling me to keep going, that it doesnt mind that you dont learn shit, cause in the end everyone is only goping to judge you on if you have that fucking paper or not. Most people dont even give a shit that the paper in itself means NOTHING. It only means you have put up with bullshit for 3-4 years and graduated. It means you wasted 3-4 years of your fucking life worrying about deadlines for dumb assignments, you have spend 3-4 years bending over getting fucked up the ass by dumb-ass idiotic teachers who shouldnt even be allowed to HAVE kids, let alone teach them. That's all it means. Nothing more and nothing less.

Something is seriously wrong with our society that we expect everyone of us to go through that crap, instead of teaching them usefull stuff...

yeah, i mean im debting whether or not to go back to college for another year, but the years starts out cool and then by 3months in you bored shitless not learning anything and just turning up to class for the sake of hoping that there might just be something interesting in it. i took photography this year lol it was such a shithole, they didnt teach us about the technical side of cameras, like how to use all the function on them "oh just point and shoot" its like i could do that at fucking home...ok they taught us to develop pics and stuff but besides that it was left to us to do 3 sketchbooks and 3 projects during the year, they really were there to "supervise" and help us if we needed it not that they were much help you asked them a simple question and they'd go off on a 30 minute rant about something entirley different. and then wondered why not many people turned up to class lol! they really were such twats. the only lessons seeminlgy worth while are those that teach another language since they HAVE to teach you something there lol

i want to go to uni, well i dont, but as its going now, if you dont have this piece of paper its gonna be hard to find a job. and theres no garauntee even if you do get a degree or whatever, and its damned expensive. im all for education and learning, but schools are just more indoctrination, teaching you to be a good little person, do as your told, take the shit they throw at you, and not to think for yourself.

It used to be all about degrees, but since they get handed out in fucking cornflakes packets these days, their worth has been devalued.

But if you can show you can do the job in practice, rather than theory, you've already got a gold star on your application.

yeah but its GETTING employed, i've been looking for a job since before i left highschool 3 yrs ago, and all i get is "sorry you dont have enough experience" i mean wtf how can i get experience when no-one will employ me?! now my health makes it more difficult, one look at the walking stick and splints and "oh sorry...*insert some lame excuse*" this is the stupid ass thing with employment, they want experienced people, but no-one will give you a job to get the experience...so what do you do then? im experienced in photography and such but until i have actual practical experience no-one wants to know...ok im whining now, but yeah it just gets on my nerves that the education and employment scales are so fucked up.

I think if you asked most Americans, they wouldn't know why we have it. But to answer your question, it's to commemorate the adoption of the American flag. All businesses are open and such. No big sales or anything. Hardly anybody even puts a flag out anymore. Most people wait 'til July 4th, Independence Day, to fly flags and celebrate.
