Ah man gutted. Paraguay could just not penetrate the England defence.

One or two chances though.

Well, England won, but if that's the best they can do they've no chance of winning the cup. Paraguay improved a lot in the 2nd half, but just didn't look threatening in the penalty box. A team who could score goals would have punished England.

Awfull game, both sides looked very weak. Lucky goal, Lampard and J. Cole were pretty good. Referee should be shot in the head ASAP. A waste of my time.

Referee was pretty strict and good observation Mark. I might try and see how well Sweden play tonight. They may be a big threat to England.

Swedes looking a little nervous. I'm quite surprised that no one's scored a goal yet.

Sweden should be fucking ashamed, especially their cowardly coach. T&T hardly had anyone upfront, even got one of their players sent off, and still the swedish coach kept playing 4 man in the defense plus a defensive midfielder...

LOL at Trinidad and Tobago. You'd think they just won 3 pts or something. Swedes are gutted.

Guess T&T will be partying tonight. They did well to hold up against the Swedes, considering they had 10 dudes.

hey,

hehe, we suck. This was the year of hockey, baby, not fucking footie. ;)

Big ups to T&T. big downs to our overpaid big players and for our coach's poor selection of players. When is Kim Källström gonna be allowed from start? Anyhow...very deserved.

What a sensation, this 0:0.

This match somehow reminded me of "Cool Runnings" :D

Yeah to be honest I just saw the last 20 minutes.
I thought Sweden would win this match anyway... After the bad match between England and Paraguay I was just looking forward to seeing Argentina´s match.

BTW.: It´s 1:0 for Argentina by now.
What a cheap goal that was

2-0 at half time although it may or may not have been 3-0 (did the entire ball go over the line?)

Regardless, Argentina are in a comfortable situation. I'd like to see Ivory Coast get a few more shots on target but the Argentinian defence is solid.

Oh man - I'm itching to see the Japan USA game on Monday but it's on at 2pm (I'm working).

I'll need to borrow a radio or something.

Well, let's put it this way. I was working today (I started at 11.30 and finish at 6.00), but between the hours of 2.00 and 4.00, I was sat in front of a huge screen watching the match with my colleagues. So my answer would be very much like: Err....no. :|

I was very disappointed with England's performance. You're right; I didn't see a World Cup winning side today. They'll really have to shape up once they get to the real challenges. Beckham and Gerrard played well, but there was no overall teamplay, I thought.

P.S. After the match, I ended up playing Pro Evo 5 and Worms 2 :D. I got paid for doing fuck-all. As I do most days, to be honest :D

Dunno about you guys but that was one highly erotic match. I found it incredibly entertaining.

Glad Ivory managed to get that goal.

England were VERY poor! We should have took advantage of the quick goal but we just went backwards after the good start. Typical Eriksson tournament type performance. :|

Great result for Trinidad. Hopefully that will make us sit up and get our act together when we play them.

Great match Argies V Ivorians. If the latter could finish it would have been different.

England-Paraguay

England were OK 1st half (the goal looked like it was going in anyway to me), terrible second half and didnt do anything of note. Eriksson is clueless - he takes Owen off and brings on Hargreaves WTF? :?
Thought Becks and Joe Cole were pretty good TBH, having Rooney on the bench this early was the most pointless thing since the book "How To Learn French" was translated into French 8)
The referee was crap, thought Paraguay got away loads more than England  (Numerous tackles from behind and Terry getting an arm in the throat). England got yellow cards for less
I agree the pitch was hard to see :? I watched the game in a pub in Greece and we could hardly see anything. Then someone turned the brightness up

Congrats to Trinidad and Tobago though! :D

Chuffed at Spain's 4-0 gubbing over Ukraine. I got them at the world cup sweeps so I'll be supporting them.
