The Deep Discount/Deep Discount DVD Bargains Thread!

Post by bradavon »

I thought I better nab this before the DVD Forums mods shut it down (the codes don't affiliate to them):
Aretak wrote:Not sure if this is alright to post here (sorry in advance if not), as I don't know if the forum or DVD Times will be having their own code to use for the sale (though since there doesn't seem to be an affiliate link, I'd guess not).

Anyway, there's usually loads of codes for these things. Two I've found which work so far are...

usatoday
DVDTALK
More codes below

T&C's are as follows...

The 20% discount offer applies only to most available DVDs, UMDs, HD-DVDs, Blu-rays, storage accessories, and posters. Pre-releases, titles marked with a (*), video games and toys are excluded from the sale. Your discount is reflected below for applicable items. Thank you for shopping at DeepDiscountDVD.com

We reserve the right to limit quantities. We cannot accept orders for more than 5 units of any item.

The codes can be entered on the basket page, and the reduced price will show up there.

Can anyone find any "must have bargains"? I'm having trouble finding any actual bargains. I can only find Das Experiment of any worth.

Where is the thread Eva started featuring an arthouse sale at DDD? I can find the Disney one (which is now over) but not this one.

The Sony clearance? That should still be going. The Anchor Bay one expired at the end of last month.

Also Media Blasters titles are NOT part of the sale, so none of the sub-labels like Tokyo Shock then. There's a Media Blasters sale over at Hkflix.com though.

EDIT: Looks like SOME Tartan titles ain't part of the sale either.

:( Patlabor LE is still expensive, over here on playusa.com, they are selling it for £35.99 which is the same price as Deep Discount DVD CA, expect I won't get stung by custom

Surely there's cheaper than Playusa Slasher? Everytime I've looked Playusa have been expensive. What about MovieTyme and Loaded247.

As it's an R1 LE Slasher you're going to have to plump for the PlayUSA price. It's bound to be hit by customs from American e-tailors.

Well not really as they have hundreds of dvds I am sure I would want, but acctually remembering dvds that I dont own is harder than I think :D

If I had a wanted list, I could easily find loads, but I just dont do that anymore I just see something and buy it. I know of some dvds I want, but a lot are not out yet and they dont take pre orders :( shame.

Also with the fucking £18 limit (currently exactly $33.94) you can't add anymore than 2-3 titles and if it's a Criterion it could only be 1 title.

Thus with the postage on top (which is expensive unless you buy 2-3) it bumps the price to make the 20% mean very little. Criterions are still £15-17 that's not a bargain.

Good idea cheers. Yeah but once you've added postage it's suddenly no longer a bargain.

Do they have a list of sub $10 DVDs? I can only find Das Experiment. It will be a great sale that way but at regular prices they're to expensive.

EDIT: It can be done here: http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/search.cfm

As far as I knew they shipped them all seperatly, so customs isnt a problem. But that would have to be confirmed before people make massive orders :)

I'm afraid not Romero :( -

http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/show ... p?t=430223

In short if they're all in stock they ship together, if not they won't. It's not worth the risk IMO.

Arlington Road 6 Bucks, bargain for such a good film - http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=COL003926

As far as in stock goes, its hard to say much really :( I bought 2 in one order and both were in stock, they both shipped seperat and came a week apart, I guess they were in stock, just one must have been under a carpet :D

Arlington Road is an excellent edge of your seat thriller. Bin your video and get the R1.

I'll try to grab some TV anime boxsets, they're usually very expensive and the R1's are usually the only ones worth the time of day (R4's & R2's are normally NTSC-PAL).

Maybe:-
Kino's Journey
Serial Experiment Lain

Lain is quite a good series, if a little odd.

Brad, Akira DTS edition is quite cheap. It's a good film, that sounds up your alley.

Am doing a group order with my brother, we'll split the shipping and currency conversion fee.

Ordered for me:-
Serial Experiment Lain boxset
Haibane Renmei boxset

For him:-
Stargate Atlantis S1
Stargate SG-1 S8

They were sold out of Kino's Journey. Meh, I'll grab it some other time.

Another confirmed code:-
SUPERSALE

It's in an email I received from DDD, so it must work.
Kurgan wrote:Lain is quite a good series, if a little odd.
Lain and Haibane Renmei are reportedly slow-paced existential (intellectually stimulating in other words) shows, that's how I like my anime so it sounds all good to me.
