How would YOU like your afterlife to be?

Post by Yi-Long »

As stated in the title, what would you LIKE to happen to you after death (with ur spirit, not body... )

Do you want to live on a cloud with naked blonde angels? Do you want to reincarnate as a fly? Or as pencilhead? Or maybe as a star, shining high above in the sky...
Do you want a big-ass villa in the after-life with all the earthly comforts and seeing all your old friends and pets and family again? Do you want to be a wandering spirit on earth, scaring 9 year old boys who 'see dead people' ?

Personally, I'd be satisfied to be in a neverending hug with my girlfriend, feeling her warmth and love for the rest of time...
It would also be nice to see my cat in the afterlife...

Anyway, have fun. This is not a discussion IF there is an afterlife or reincarnation or whatever, but a simple WHAT IF...

Hmm... I guess I'd choose the things that made me happiest in this life and carry them over to the next.

My greatest loves, feelings, possessions, etc.

Can really think of any idyllic package or representation off-hand.

I'd definately want to see my Mum and Dad "up there".

I've moved this to debate as we don't want three threads on afterlife, it's overkill. I'd probably merge them somehow if this was possible.

As for the question at hand it's a hard one. I'd probably want to be reincarnated (I know not strictly the afterlife) as one of the great minds of history. Someone like Albert Einstein.

To be as clever as these people would be really something.

If Albert Einstein was so clever, why didnt he think about getting a fucking haircut that didnt make him look like a cartoon character? ;)

It would be nice to be smart(er) though. I'm pretty smart (137+) but I'm no wizzkid or whatever. Just my logical thinking etc is high... (High IQ and high EQ), but I'd love if I knew how certain things REALLY work on the inside etc. Like how the fuck does a freezer get so cold!? Or how come my voice can go into a phone here, and come out the same moment at the other side of the world?

Ah well, I can understand everything Cruyff says, so that's a plus :D

I didn't realise anyone took IQ seriously. I've no idea what my IQ is (who does the tests?) and don't really care.

I had to take a test at some special building when I was 15/16 orso, cause school thought I was a smart kid, but I didnt get high grades. Turned out I was just lazy (Hell, I could have told them that) ;)

Cruyff is/was a very good and famous Dutch football player, and is often an analist for Dutch TV when important footballgames are played (he only bothers to show up for CL matches btw ;) )
Anyway, he really REALLY understands ALL aspects of football, so often he sees the problem on the pitch, AND knows the sollution to fix it, He already had that as a 17 year old kid when he started playing at Ajax with the old players, and was constantly instructing them and coaching them during the match, which was great to watch I bet :D )

Anyway, many Dutch people often hear him analysing on TV and he says things which in his mind are very logical and easy to udnerstand, but people who don't 'get' it or 'see' it, are often left scratyching their heads... :D Which is awesome cause often the guy who's doing the talk with him just stand there looking flabbergasted at what Cruyff is trying to explain to him.

Cruyff is also the only guy who can keep the interviewer from going into a commercial :D
When Cruyff is explaining something, sometimes their time to talk is over because they need to cut to commercials, but Cruyff just keeps talking and the interviewer is too intimidated by Cruyff (as in awe, not as in fear) to rudely cut Cruyff off :D So you can see the commentator getting a bit nervous, and bringing up his hands a bit and trying to politely interrupt :D

Anyway, many people complain that Cruyff is hard to follow when he's explaining things, but I pretty much always know what he means :D

Totally agree. In fact, most of the stuff you 'learn' in school is mostly useless, and often soon forgotten. I'd much rather see kids doing more constructive stuff. Obviously reading and maths etc is usefull, but some stuff isnt...
So I'd rather see them get more experience with arts, cooking, stuff they'll need in everyday life later on. Then, when they have a good clear view as to what they'd like to do when they grow up, they go to a school that will educate them in that direction.

You can't LEARN IQ anyway. You can improve it a bit obviously, but in school you just learn 'knowledge': facts and figures. And unless you've got the memory of an elephant, you'll forget it again anyway, so it's a bit useless.

yeah lol i have an a really great memory and regurgitate what they want into the exam, i took the IQ test as scored 145 which aparently made me "gifted" lol! but i learnt more after i left school than i ever did in school. people think that because you have an high IQ you must know the answers to everything, its annoying.

even in college now i ask my tutors questions and non of them answer them, they are like "uh we dunno" its like then wtf are you doin teaching me?! last time i asked about the gregorian calendar and how previous events could be accurate she completley ignored me lol, quite funny really, if not a little frustrating. for me the most useless class i ever took was personal/social education (mandatory). lol it raelly failed in our class, supposed to teach us about sex eduction and how to have safe sex and such...out of 20 people atleast half of them are parents, so it sure worked there.

No idea what my I.Q is but it's probably double digit. Why else would I spend so much time here instead of being filthy rich?

I was lazy too at school and immature. I wasn't ready do be at my best then when it counted but would do better now after the fact. It sucks that kids lives are mapped out at such a premature age.

My short term memory sucks and I find it very hard to concentrate which made/makes learning tougher for me than it should be. I'd consider myself smartish, but don't have all the right tools.

Yeah, I also often feel kids are required to grow up too fast and make important decisions too early and waste their time in school learning bullshit instead of using that precious time to play outside and have fun and learn more important stuff ...

If I'd ever become a teacher, I'd do things totally differently. A few months ago there was a great documentary on TV about a japanese class with young kids and a good teacher, and the guy taught stuff like friendship, love, working together, respect etc etc. And not from some book or whatever, but by giving them assignments, having them speak in front of class, keeping and sharing a diary, etc etc. Those kids really opened up and matured into persons with good values. Not sure how long thos values will last ofcourse, but at least it's better then just stomping their heads in with useless information.

Anyway, we've gone way offtopic here :)

I'd like it to be how life is now, minus all the hardships like having to put time & effort to get what you want. Basically free board, free food, unlimited supply of cash and women.

Idiots should be there too, cuz someone needs to supply the lulz.

I'm not sure I can answer this question as anything done to excess is to much. At first being surrounded by gorgeous babe angels would be lovely but it would soon get boring and can you imagine the nagging :D

'Clean your cloud, Brad...'
'Stop rubbing your halo, Brad'
'No I do NOT want to give you a 'wing-job', Brad... whatever that is...'

Yeah, it'd be awfull ;)
