Ah for fuck's sake...they made another one?!

hey,

http://imdb.com/title/tt0455499/
Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties

Being a huge fan of the comic strip, I wasn't expecting a lot from the first film but the choice of having Bill Murray do the voice was at least good idea on paper. Not only was Garfield off by a mile design-wise, Murray sounded extremely disinterested and staying true to the human characters the filmmakers definitely did not. Where was the nerdy, clumsy Jon Arbuckle?

But Jim Davis obviously got a nice, big paycheck for him to say on camera that the filmmakers had captured all the essence of his comic strip...a second time even.

Is the above at all surprising developments? Of course not, it's Tinseltown at it's very best so who am I to complain? Yes, they got a point...what do we fans know? At any rate...

Once I'd heard Bill Murray was involved with the first film, I was quite interested; he can do laconic rather well :), but when I saw the trailer my interest died completely.

I didn't know the first film had done well enough to warrant a sequel. Tch.

Set in Britain... prepare for the usual stock stereotypes.

Rated PG: so yet another film in which Jennifer Love fails to get her baps out.

I'd pay to see those puppies. JLH's two friends very much saved "I know what you did last summer".

As for the first film it looked rubbish so I didn't bother and so will this. Neither are/will be anything like the comic.

I might watch it for Love if 'Garfield' is on TV sometime but I won't pay.

Jennifer Love Hewitt .... Liz Wilson, D.V.M.
Good enough reason to rent when it hits DVD. ;)
