Its not just america anyway, its us in the UK as well

the wankers are still trying to kill innocent people over here, but gladly we are stopping them, but sadly some are getting thru and killing. Lets just hope they fucking die slow and painfully.

I didnt send them and dont want them there. Theres a lot of shit going on over there as its like a warzone and if it wasnt the soldiers killing them, it would be the people killing each other as theres a shitload of loonies over there,. Religion is sick and has killed far more people than the foreign soldiers ever could, and done far worse things than the soldiers ever could.

We in the UK are not at war, big difference.

The UK IS in war, Romero. They are in a war against Iraq, and are sending troops to kill and bomb Iraqis. Just because the warzone isnt in England, you guys still ARE in a war, and therefore you should expect alot more attacks from islamic combattants.

Good point Yi, however in my eyes (hopefully no ones here) does that make 9/11 any more "justified", it was still an unprovoked terrorist attack, and rightly or wrongly a terror attack IMO has the right to be avenged. I'm sure if 9/11 happened in another country people would still "remember" loved ones and those who died.

No, what LD is asking is how does his "Thousands of people die every day" quote mean 9/11 was OK?

LD I know there are lots of attcks/disasters or whatever, can they not be remembered in some way?

On Boxing Day last year the anniversary of the tsunami was marked and the families of the victims remembered them. Its' important. Why do you think we remember war sarcrifices over 60 years later, even over 90 years later?

Outside of sight is out of mind is the general thing with humans. We can't help it, we're just like that by instinct. We're much more likely to care if the guy down the road was brutally murdered, than a genocide in Africa.

But we learned that DEMOCRACY is the way to change the world. We voted for our leaders, and now all should be swell, shouldnt it? WRONG!

I too would welcome mass protests against our goverments. hell, I'd even like to see someone grab power and restore some nomal values and morals back in our system... but that's just never going to happen. We're so used at the moment that we're being lied too and all pay through the nose in taxes, and that we all neglect all the injustices in the world... we just zapp away from it.

Back in the days, you only had a couple of TV stations, so when there was a scandal or disaster, you were confronted by it in the media. Right now you just zap to another network and enjoy a repeat of a repeat of a repeat of a spin-off of Friends...

Plus we dont have an emotional tie with africans. We do with America and some of us with Asia, but we dont have that with Africa or the Middle-east. We dont watch their movies, listen to their music, know nothing about them. So when they're killing eachother, we just go :arent they ALWAYS killing eachother?' and that's basically it. And that's sad.

I agree with LD about the pointlessness of remembering WW2, if at the same time we all neglect the current victims and crimes.
Many right-wing people all want everyone to respect that 2 minutes of silence on the 5th of may... yet at the same time they vote for a political party that doesnt give a shit about non-Dutch people. hypocritical bastards. 60 years ago those right-wing people would probably have ratted out the jews.
