2006/2007 Holiday thread

Post by BiscLimpkit »

Probably should've started this topic earlier but I figured with the holiday season (supposedly) coming, we could discuss where we're going/planning to visit?

I just got flights booked for Tokyo this October. Now I need to sort out accomodation and master the language. I've got friends there - I'm actually going to a wedding party. So they've offered to show us around, which is nice of them.

I've just come back from Gdansk, Poland. I went for work purposes but managed to get a nice tour of the city. I'd have no problem if the company stationed me there for a year (or 6 months during the summer). Lovely city, stunning archetecture, cheap prices (although the economy is rising with more businesses taking advantage).

I did plan to go to Germany for the world cup, just to boo England, but I was too preoccupied with my graduate rotation to sort it out. The only other holiday I can think of is maybe another city break (hopefully in either Germany or Poland) and the EIFF in August (where I usually get pished with Tigercage aka Limited Edition Slag).

How long you going for? I only see Tcage once a year but he's doing good. Getting married on 7/7/07. Put that in your calendars.

A subject I love although I dont' go on holiday, I travel. The two are very different.

Okay:

1. I was set to go to India last March but I couldn't afford it in the end because of my new car

2. I am hoping to go to California/Texas in July. I'll be staying with friends in California. 2 weeks is on the cards. I need to get them to confirm first.

3. I am also planning to visit Japan for two weeks to visit Japanese/Korean friends (he is Japanese, she Korean) I met in Vietnam last year. I then will have a week at the end in Thailand to visit my Thai friend. So 3 weeks in all.

4. Next March now I'lll visit India.

That's as much as I have planned but I'm always thinking where I can visit next.

One day I'll explore South America for 3+ months, after I learn some Spanish and I'm also planning to move out next summer so this will delay things.

One day I'll also visit Tibet.

I'll be in Corsica this summer.

It's nice to have such a beautiful island so close to home. :D

No plans yet. In 2 weeks I'm done with school. After that it's a huge dark hole. :)
I'm a bit worried as to what I'm going to do now. The thing I'd most like to do is to just grab my backs and leave this place and never come back, but obviously, with a girlfriend who's heart would be shattered, it isnt an option. Perhaps I'll try and get some small acting parts or something, maybe see if that's something I'd like and might be able to pursue. Not too optimistic about it though, as it seems they only go for people who have officially been to drama-school or kids who've been on idols.

Put her in a box and send her to me. I'll take care of her. :D

I'm still in Thailand, staying overtime :D
This is pretty crazy but something similar to what happened to Tom has happened to me. My house back home has been flooded on the bottom floor (where i live), and alot of my stuff (TV, PC, and some of my dvds) has been destroyed.

My situation is not nearly as bad as what happened to Tom though, since the house is ok and the only part that was destroyed was the rooms i live in (of course). No one was hurt thankfully, but i do not have flood insurance (normal home insurance does not cover flooding in the US) so i'm pretty much out of luck with my lost stuff.

The only good thing about all this is that i'm here in Asia, so i decided to stay another week or so. I will start posting much more once i get back, i lost my main PC but i still have my laptop.

My uncle from America wants to buy a car in Germany next year for his brother (my other uncle :D ) who lives in Jordan. So his plan is to go there from here by car. Told him I'll be on board. Will be an awesome ride.

They do, but for very expensive prices due to the high custom rates and import taxes.

Hey Fella,

Let us know how you’re getting on in Japan. Gets some pics posted up on here also.

Will be back from India on the 23rd October although its possible I will only be back for a week before returning to India for another 4-6 weeks. If I do return I am going to deffo go to HK for 5 days or so before coming home.

I’m enjoying India far more then I was initially, although im not experiencing as much as I should staying in a 5 star hotel and all but I am now pretty much acclimatised to the place. The roads, poverty and class system no longer bother me that much. I can’t change it so there is no point stressing about it. :)
