"All previous cuts waived" but does that include the pre-cuts suggested before official cinema submission? At the very least it'll be in line with the PG-13 version.

Nice thanks Mark but to answer your question - what do you think? You already know the answer.

It really bodes well for the TND: UE.

It might be fully uncut. Licence to Kill will be remember, and said "All previous cuts waived" (though didnt the BBFC cuts to LTK INCLUDE MPAA cuts as well?)

Here's a full list of BBFC (+MPAA?) cuts from Rewind:

The entire wide shot of Stamper shooting the British sailors in the water has been removed, so that the detailed suffering and the focus on death now happens off screen [a pointless cut, some might argue, as the implication of something can often be worse than seeing it].

The beating-up of Bond at Carver's opening party has been cut to remove the first two heavy blows with the baseball bat [the first blow we see is actually the third], and also the volume of the sound effects in the fight that follows have been reduced.

When Bond breaks the arm of the man he throws into the printing press, the crunch sound has been reduced in volume.

Bond's killing of Dr. Kaufman has been cut to shorten the length of Dr. Kaufman’s fall to the ground, so as to remove the sight of his bloody head wound as he collapses off-screen.

Just before the helicopter ride sequence, the shooting of the Chinese man on the boat with the spear gun has been cut. All that remains is the wide shot and then a quick cutaway to another shot so we don’t see his dying body tremble.

The shots of Bond throwing the chakra torture knife into Stamper have been re-edited to clarify that it is only Stamper’s leg being injured, and not a fatal wound. As a result, an extra shot is included of Stamper pulling the knife out of his leg without showing any pain.

Also in the above scene, the impact sounds have been greatly reduced in volume; so much in fact that we hardly hear them at all.

The volume of some of the impact sounds in the bike shop fight with Wai Lin have been reduced in volume.

On the stealth boat, the close-up of Bond pulling out a knife has been removed (to avoid focus on easily obtainable weapons), and the shots of Bond grabbing a sailor and thrusting a knife deep into him have been totally removed. These cuts have been replaced with just a solo shot of Bond.

Carver’s shooting of Gupta has been cut to remove the sight of blood exploding from his gory wound. Only a wide shot now remains where his wound is already present and he is falling to the ground.

In the sequence that begins with Wai Lin smiling at a guard as he opens a door in front of her, the subsequent high kicks have had their volume toned down greatly as has the sound effect of her jumping on the guard’s chest.

The shots of Wai Lin plucking a shuriken (throwing star) from her boot, throwing it at a second guard and the subsequent gory shot of it embedded in the guard’s neck (the star having cut his throat) have all been removed. All we see briefly is Wai Lin looking down at her shoe (it is more obvious in slow motion).

Just after Bond states he is going to stop the missile, the subsequent shots of him stamping on the semi-conscious prostrate guard’s head and cracking his skull have been removed, along with the loud crunch of bone. Now we just see the guard waking up, and Bond walking through a door, with no explanation of what happened to the guard.

The sequence where Bond has two guns and shoots a man down the stairs has been shortened and replaced with brief separate shots.

In the sequence where Wai Lin shoots two pipes and the escaping steam hits some guards in the face, the screams of the guards as they are scalded have been toned down or removed.

The sounds of Carver’s agonising screams as he is drilled to death have been removed.

In the final fight between Bond and Stamper, the violence has been reduced to tone down the impact sounds in volume. This was done in order to reduce the emphasis on infliction of pain and injury, and to increase the emphasis on suspense of Bond's hand manoeuvring into position to detonate the explosives

Those are the BBFC NOT MPAA cuts Grim. We never get to here about those, well rarely.

Ask yourself how likely Sony are going to go back to footage that has been pretty much lost and cut before the BBFC even saw it. That just doesn't happen.

All cuts waived means specifically BBFC cuts waived.

But it doesn't bode well for "Goldeneye" as that doesn't seem to have been resubmitted.

That said this extra for the UE rated 15 has been submitted so it's likely Goldeneye will be resubmitted too:

Interesting TND is now going to be a 15.

I can't account for all cuts, especially the audio ones, but the following footage definately wasn't cut for the PG-13 version:

2. Now we just see the guard waking up, and Bond walking through a door, with no explanation of what happened to the guard.

3. The sounds of Carver’s agonising screams as he is drilled to death have been removed.

The MPAA didn't get specific cuts of their own. Some of the BBFC ones were just carried over.

You're probably right... but the fact that each disc will include rare deleted scenes and archive footage, well, you never know for sure...

Barring a mistake on the part of MGM, LTK will definately be 100% uncut, with all 38 secs of censored footage restored.

Word has it that GE has been passed "uncut"; it's just not appeared on the BBFC website yet.

I guess even now the violence was considered too strong.

That's unusual isn't it? You can't expect them to listen to all the film boards when editing a film.

That's possible.
