I just spotted that. CD WOW really need to fix there bloody search engine it really pisses me off how so many things don't appear.
Such as this. Type in "kingdom of heaven" as I've been doing and it's not there but it does appear on some pages.
At £14.99 it could still be an option for those who have credit/debit cards which fleece you on the exchange rate (like Lloyds). Nationwide are great for this and virtually charge you what the actual exchange rate is, as they all should.

I watched this today and boy it's an improvement. The Theatrical Cut races along at break neck pace, this new cut really takes it's time with stacks and stacks more detail and depth.
It turns a fairly good film into a very good film. It's still not as good as Gladiator (does it have to be?) but it's definitely now a very good film.
In it's proper form it does have much more depth, grandeur and it now really feels like a big film. Many key plot points are added which really add to the film, some of the changes are huge.
Yet again we're shown the director (almost) always knows better than some stupid studio executive. They really should have faith in their film-maker.
It's a real shame most won't touch New cuts assuming the Theatrical Cut is all they need to see because most were disappointed with the Theatrical Cut and will continue to believe it's a flawed film.
I'd give the Theatrical Cut a 5 out of 10 and the Director's Cut 8 out of 10.

I'm positive that the director's cut is a vast improvement. I didn't buy the TC as I knew the DC was coming. However, I am not touching it, because it is still too damn expensive.bradavon wrote:It's a real shame most won't touch New cuts assuming the Theatrical Cut is all they need to see because most were disappointed with the Theatrical Cut and will continue to believe it's a flawed film.

£11/16€ from Amazon for a 4 Disc set of very much quality and quantity (It's a perfect set) I wouldn't say is expensive at all.
I remember reading you thought the TC was one sided. Personally I don't see how you came to that conclusion and the DC makes it even more rounder than it was before. Both sides are shown to have flaws and are shown in a real 3D light, if anything it's the Muslims who get a better run of it.
I've only watched the accuracy documentary so far, it's clear the majority of KOH is very faithful to the events and real life people.

Well, the R2UK from Amazon.co.uk that is. The R2DE is on pre-order for €30,99.bradavon wrote:£11/16€ from Amazon for a 4 Disc set of very much quality and quantity (It's a perfect set) I wouldn't say is expensive at all.
Well, you clearly got me wrong then, because I never said that they had portrayed Muslims as bad people or so.I remember reading you thought the TC was one sided. Oh that should be interesting. Did they explain in that "accuracy" documantary why they made the Muslim prayer look completely inaccurate?I've only watched the accuracy documentary so far, it's clear the majority of KOH is very faithful to the events and real life people.

Agreed the European DVDs are bloody expensive but the R1 is half the price. I went R1, it has nicer cover art too.thelostdragon wrote:Well, the R2UK from Amazon.co.uk that is. The R2DE is on pre-order for €30,99.
It is and lasts 25 minutes. No they didn't mention that. Most of the historians are Western but they do have some Asian Historians too (okay one, plus one of the actors).thelostdragon wrote:Oh that should be interesting. How inaccurate is it?
It's 2/3 Western accuracies/inaccuracies (such as the Queen would never have been allowed to roam around freely) and 1/3 Asian.

Oh yeah good point.thelostdragon wrote:When you see a few Muslims praying at the seaside, they are scattered around. Usually Muslims stand together when they pray.
Really, how so?thelostdragon wrote:The second time they are praying is inbetween the final battle. The sound of their voices didn't match their movements.
Odd they'd miss these two.
