Anchor Bay of all companies! I cannot wait to see the dvd as surley it has to be better than the truley sickening quality dvds out now. Uncut I hope too!!!!!!!! Shame about the lack of extras, but if the transfer is quality I dont care too much :)

not the best cover ever made, but ok I guess.

I keep forgetting Anchor Bay own Manga now, I just wish they would assimilate them and just add the Anchor Bay logo to the packaging and get it over with.

Well just casue it says Uncut doesnt mean much, they say it all the time with films and they are still cut, they may mean uncut american cut :D but this is probibly the only chance of a proper version of the film anyway.

It also says "Uncensored", I know what you mean though. It is reported to have the famous Chun Li footage put back in. "Transfer from the original Japanese master with never before seen scenes" seems a good indicator.

I am sure I will get it anyway :) as I still have my Video sitting on my shelf as the dvd was about 10 times worse looking.

Actually it was not full screen, the japanese version was 1.85:1 aspect ratio. See the following article from DvD times

I have this version with a fansub included and it really good.

There's a good chance that the film was made "open-matte" (whatever the cel-animation equivalent is called) like Transformers The Movie, since they knew it'd be mostly widely seen on VHS. Whatever, we'll for the reviews to see if it's P&S or "open-matte".

Yup just because it was widscreen on some dvds and in japanese cinemas does not mean that was its actual intended ratio. As far as I always knew it was always suposed to be shown Fullscreen, it just been badly cropped for widescreen, so you see far more in its origanal fullscreen.

I had a book on the animation of the film and it always seemed intended for fullscreen as I am pretty sure they never expected a cinema release, when it did get it in japan they had to alter it as no one likes fullscreen in cinemas.

BAD NEWS it may acctually be non-anamorphic widescreen! no sale for me then and they can stick it up their arses the bunch of fucking idiots! That means you cannot even expand it tio fill your screen as the subs will be cut off the bopttom! as its 1.66.1 apprenty

But until its 100% confirmed by early dvds, no idea what else to say but if its true thats shit for me and I will never buy it.
