Cheers Salty I may pick up Con Air but when it's cheap. It's good fun but doesn't come close to films like The Rock.

That link also says:

"Crimson Tide: Unrated Extended Edition on May 16th"

I have to agree, pity.

I suspect they'll be extended by a few minutes and add nothing. The extras will probably be the same too.

Yes! I'm happy I have waited. Loved both movies. I hope that they used new and better transfers as well.

Interested in CON AIR but I'd like to know more.

Don't want to have a bunch of cutting room floor sweepings back into the film.

I liked both Con Air and EOTS, no desire to buy either though unless I see 'em really cheap.

Steve Buscemi as the sociopath was hilarious. Eg the anecdote where he scalped the little girl and "wore it as a hat"'.

They fixed all the problems with the R1's yonks ago.

these should be reasonably priced on release the rrp is only $19.99 so with discount should be less than a tenner at pacific.

Does that really need another Special Edition? The current SE DVD is already decent.

John Woo really should've directed that film, instead handing it off to that hack Antoine Fuqua (Training Day was just average with excellent performances, nothing more).

I might be tempted if they include both versions of the film (Con Air, enemy of the state, the Replacement Killers) with new transfers and DTS on both versions of the film, plus some decent extras. If not I'll stick with what I already have.

You wont get more than one version on the dvds look at the companies releasing them, they never release 2 editions on 1 dvd.

Enemy of the State et al will have new transfers according to the link, no mention of what the extras are there though.
Wasn't the original EOTS R Rated or was it PG-13? :?
It was 15 rated in England.

Probably the effing and blinding I would imagine also there's a shootout at the end. It's been many years since I saw this.

The Unrated EOTS is 9 minutes longer. There's a DVD Talk review here:

http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=21664

Its pretty useless though as the reviewer admits thats the first time he's seen the film and so doesnt know whats different in terms of new footage from the older release.

It's a pity they didn't port the Con Air extras over at the very least. Still it still looks like the best we're going to get for some time to come.
