Wait... that's NOT offensive!? Boy...(!)EvaUnit02 wrote:No offense dude, but are you fucking retarded?Yi-Long wrote: And I wont be buying the region 1, cause I'm sure that one day it will get a decent release...
Yeah, sound spretty good, but it's already a pretty old release, so I'm sure they could improve the videoquality and shit like that, plus it's such a classic that i wouldnt be surprised if one day they'll release a 2-disc SE.These specs sound great:-
R1 America - (Universal Pictures)
Commentaries:
Commentary with director and screenwriter
Extras:
Inside Out of Sight - an original Making Of documentary
Deleted Scenes
Theatrical Trailer
Production Notes
Music highlights from the film
Cast and Filmmakers Biographies
Picture format:
1.85:1 Anamorphic NTSC
English Dolby Digital 5.1
Also, I mostly dont go for R1's, as I prefer PAL. For HK movies I usually dont make a big deal out of it, especially not now that I have a new region-free dvdplayer, but most R1's will also be released in R2 in pretty much the same way, so i usually rather wait for a R2, then wait for it to go on sale at Play or CDWOW, and then buy it.
I've bought region 1's in the past from American/canadian e-tailers, but TBH I dont feel like using them anymore. DVDsoon was ok for me, untill one of their discs didnt arrive and I had to wait 5-6 months orso before they replaced it, plus ofcourse the recents scamm involving them...
Anyway, the current R1 sounds like the best option at the moment, but I can wait a few years untill they do release a better version in R2 (or R4, which is also PAL and cheap).
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

I'm including Expedited International Shipping (or whatever its called) in my calculation (sorry), which is what I've always used when buying from them, which is around $10.48, jeez - International Surface Mail from Amazon takes ages.
If you dont mind waiting (9-36 days?!) that is cheap though.
You get items from Amazon in under a week? Not if you use the cheapest shipping option you don't!

Sorry to tell you that its no quicker at all, standard $7 postage is exactly the same time as the expensive postage. I get all items under a week, some in a few days and I always go with the cheapest option as there is no difference at all for me in my experience and many others, same as many other places which have postage options, as most are only for USA, not international. You order 2 items and pick 2 different poatsage options, you wont see barley any difference in postage times.
I had an item sent out on monday and I got it today and that was with the cheapest option.
paying more for postage is a joke and a rip off. Its not sent by a truck you know, it still seems to go airmail as no way would it get here in under a week.

I can't talk for Amazon Airmail vs. Surface Mail (what each option really means) but DVD Pacific Surface Mail takes flipping forever.
AT LEAST 10 days. I now use Airmail from them but no Romero you're wrong they don't take the same time. They may do from time to time but this is in no way guaranteed.
If I end up buying from Amazon (I'm going to e-mail CD WOW again to double check) then I'll try the cheapo mail and post how long it took.

I buy from amazon a lot more than your average person, and they take no time at all, looking online it is also the case that others experience the same as me. Its a total waste of cash to pay a few pounds to get a dvd a few days earlier, its not guaranteed at all to come quicker than surface mail, and I have had items quicker than people who paid for the more expensive shipping option when they were sent out the same day, so for me its a total waste of a few pounds.
Still its your cash, spend it on what you want.
but most people dont even watch their dvds instantly as soon as they come, most people seem to wait a long time before getting around to watching them, hence its a total waste of cash paying to get them early at all.
Heres a few very good reviews, looks to be the dvd to slay all dvds!

Awesome.
dvdtalk wrote: Some spoilers may follow for those who have yet to view the film. The most significant alteration to Kingdom of Heaven is that Sibylla (Eva Green) now has a son by Guy de Lusignan (Marton Csokas), Baldwin V, who suffers from leprosy and meets an untimely fate at the hands of his mother. This subplot fleshes out precisely why Sibylla descends into madness in the film's final third and not only provides a handful of superb moments for Green, but makes her characterization that much richer. The village priest (Michael Sheen) seen burying Balian's wife at the beginning of the film is revealed to be his half-brother, which accounts for the tension between them. In addition, King Baldwin IV (Edward Norton, in his uncredited role) is seen refusing final communion and Balian crosses swords with Guy near the film's climax.
While all of these changes to the film indeed draw out its running time, in no way does Kingdom of Heaven feel overlong or laborious – with the narrative restored and characters given full, detailed arcs, screenwriter William Monahan and Scott fashion a palpably real world, one that draws you in and keeps you absorbed for the duration. The cast is exceptional throughout and the technical aspects are stunning. Put simply, Kingdom of Heaven is a masterpiece of filmmaking that has been restored to its proper glory. Ridley Scott's big dream is no longer a nightmare.

Nice. CD WOW aren't getting back to me on this one, odd as they always do normally. I've sent two e-mails but as they can't be bothered to let me know I'll go elsewhere.
No harm double checking what price CD WOW will have it for. If it's £12.99 after vouchers for example I'll get it from CD WOW as I'll get it much quicker than Amazon can get it to me.
Before you get a chance: Yes Romero I'm sure you'll disagree
