All In The Game - (Thursday 11 May - C4)

Did anyone see this? I thought it was pretty good - a darkly comic drama which starred the fine character actor Ray Winstone as a footballer manager named Frankie who winds up ripping off the club he claims to love when he gets involved in shady football deals with his agent son, while the club are fighting relegation. It explores the darker side of management.

I did feel sympathy for Winstone at various points - at the begiining in particular he was at least human, and did seem to love his club. But he becomes a nasty piece of work later on.

I think the ending could have been better though, may of the storylines were not tied up.
