I think the Pop Idol format has gone far enough.

I'm not sure what the "public" will base their votes on either (remember, Gareth Gay-tes almost won Pop Idol

) People are supposed to be vote for someone to stand at the next Election (!)

As to the people on the judging panel - John Sargeant, fair enough, but Lorraine Kelly??? Huh? This is a woman who fronts a TV equivalent of Woman's Own every day. Jeez...

I'm not sure I know enough about politics to watch it objectively but what do you think? Brad? Bruce?

If this was an attempt by ITV to tackle voter apathy among young people (by making a cheesy pop idol style show) why bury it away late at night???

I hear Gareth Gates has been dropped by his record label, only Will Young to go now!
