You know Hard-Boiled was choregraphed by Ching Siu-Tung, right ?

From the opening gunfight in the tea house to the explosive finale in the hospital, in every scene and every shot, every move is like a dance (just like Ching Siu-Tung's swordplay films).
And what about the 4-minute take in the hospital corridors. If that wasn't art, then I don't know what is.

uhm you guys do know its just a movie yeah?

i just dont like it...i did say it has some good points. but it is in the endjust a movie. it wouldnt be interesting if we all enjoyed the exact same movies. like i said, i like artistic movies, and also ones that have a point, not just bang bang your dead, with a little fire for effects.

and i owuldnt care if it was coreographed by jackie chan, jet li, tsui hark, yuen wah or whoever, to me the movie i still dont like it...

is that the end of this thing now? lets just go watch more movies...

obviosuly we love very different things in our films. Look at Toms crap list for instance (not all crap mind you )

The Hidden Fortress - 4/5

I enjoy just about any Kurosawa film, and Hidden Fortress was no exception. It is definitely not a classic in the same category as Seven Samurai or Sanjuro, though, when considering Kurosawa's earlier works. Still, it's always fantastic to watch Mifune onscreen.

I really expected to see more blatant parallels between this film and Star Wars, after what I'd heard, but it wasn't that obvious, apart from rescuing the princess story. The two farmers were often more annoying than amusing, but still, a good film.

Les Diaboliques - 4.5/5

What a great suspense film! Of course, it doesn't seem so original now, but if you take into consideration that it was such an influential film, one of the first of its kind . . . wow! Stylish, tense, and suspenseful. Plus, Vera Clouzot is great as the former nun turned murderess, even if she does look exactly like she did in Clouzot's Wages of Fear (a much better film, btw).

A lot of it seems to be a rehash of his Live at the Apollo 2002 material

Having said that, its' still very funny indeed

Just saw this here in HK, and i must say it was better then i expected from reading about it. Very nice little story with good acting all around, and JJH is lovely as usual. It goes alittle downhill towards the end, the first act was the best by far...but overall a good film.
