Have you ever been on TV ?

Post by tom2681 »

Simple question really. :D

I've been on TV a couple of times:
- In 1990. I was an extra in the french film "La gloire de mon père" (My Father's Glory). Although I only appear in 3 or 4 shots, I was very proud of myself. :D
- In 1996. I was interviewed for a news broadcast because I was a witness to some kind of shootout.
- In 2003. I was interviewed by the M6 TV channel as part of a survey about a new law (something to do with delinquents).

I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

No.

OMG! I know that film and it's other half, My Mother's Castle! You'll have to post the screengrabs of yourself, or at least tell me which scenes so I can go back and rent it and look for you! :D

As I said, I'm only in 3 shots (not worth getting excited or anything :D ).

I appear in the scene in which Marcel's father finds out he already knows how to read:

I'm also in the very first classroom scene (but I'm not facing the camera).
I was also in another classroom scene that ended on the cutting room floor.

Not what I'd call a movie star, but still...

Yes, witness...

I was once on TV News in London for about 3 secs.

They were doing a bit about computer fraud...

HANG ON! DON'T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS!

And as the camera was filming the outside of an internet cafe I was walking past. Because of the low angle I looked about 6'4 swaggering into frame. lol

Because of editing, in a later part of the report you can see my back sitting inside the cafe (which happened first, the exterior shot was when I left)

Not very exciting I know... but I did get a helluva surprise when I switched the news on.

I've been all over :D

1) I've been on Telly.

2) I've been on Radio.

3) I've been in the papers.

4) And I'm on DVD! (That I didn't make myself!)

Now bow down before your king!

Some explanations...

1) It was a news feature about my school class which was kinda special then... (all computer class in '89).

2) I had read a book and was asked to review it on a local radio station.

3) I stuck my face out on our national holiday and got my face on the backside of the papers :D

4) I was interviewed a short bit about a conference we were having, and the "show" ended up on a "commemorative" DVD.

Not that exciting... really... so I'll stick with my first few lines :D Oh yeah, I'm also on the 3 LOTR extended editions... ;) though sadly on listed in the credits as a fan...
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

I was once on regional TV, for an interview during chinese new year, where I was one of the Kung-Fu/Lion Dance guys.
He asked me about why we chose Kung Fu instead of other martial arts, and some other crap. I've never seen it though, but my Sifu did see it and said he laughed his ass off. (I wasn't very serious during the interview, kinda ridiculing the interviewer, the martial arts themselfs, and the girl in our group...)

I was also interview on radio about my thoughts on birthdays ('what do you feel about birthdays? do u celebrate it?')
The girl from the radio stopped me in the street and asked me about my opinion, and I wa spretty much the only one who didnt like birthdays and I gave my arguments and she was laughing very hard the whole time and she would DEFINATELY air it, but since it was for radio in Utrecht, and I live somewhere else, I never heard it.
It was a very nice girl btw, we talked a bit longer after the interview.

LOL I knew you would say something like that.

Why don't you like Birthdays? Is it because society insists on cutting it to only one day instead of extending it to the entire year? :D

Yeah, I think they were looking for more spiritual crap, when they interview a guy in a stupid liondance costume, but I honestly dont really give a rats ass about liondancing anyway and I just did it to help out :)

The guy was also asking some pretty uninteresting questions, like 'why did you choose kung fu over other martial arts like taekwondo, judo, karate?' of which my delicate answer was: it's closer to my home and it's cheaper.
He started the interview with 'you guys obviously arent all chinese...' which got the nice "... really now!?" Some other stuff I dont really remember.

It's mainly because it's the day some family shows up and starts asking all the same stupid questions each and every year...
I also dont like going to any birthdays cause I'm usually bored out of my mind. As a kid I just got a big pile of comicbooks and would just read them in a corner, but now that I'm mature, I can just say I dont feel like coming over. :)
