I sympathise Shen, I'm like that myself. I'm not big on talking to strangers (or even people I know, lol), and am horrendous at making small talk. I'm much more comfortable in a debate. But in spite of all that you should give the job a go at least, it opens you up to a new experience and puts cash in pocket. Just try not to abuse the customers too much.

Oh, and you can't have snakes without a crooked stick... it just wouldn't be right.

and im not a scary snake lady...thats my sister, she has 2 snakes 3 gekos and a bearded dragon

plus other reptiles like terapins, they are cute...

i like kitties better...but im not a crazy cat lady either!! hehe

just got back from the day out with my nephew taking photos, we went to the tropical world with all the butterflys and stuff like that, he loved it! just bummed out becuase he has to wait until friday for his pictures...although i did notice once or twice he took a photo with the camera to wrong way round hehe, but we'll see how they turn out. a butterfly went to land on him but he ran away from it haha, and when a parakeet it scared him lol. i'll try post some here maybe when i get them back. i'd be bummed if he took better photos than me lol although its a possibility, im glad he enjoyed it tho, will get him another disposable camera sometime and take him out again. he was upset that they took his camera and didnt give it back hehe.tried to explain they needed to break it open to get out the film and got the indignant reply "they're naughty!"

but ah it was fun...

Just got back from 5-a-side football. Worst night ever. Got there late, and five minutes in got my face smashed in from a shot taken from 4 feet away from me. Lots of blood and blurred vision. Head still hurts. (And evidently losing ability to form sentences of any real structure.)

To top it all off, we lost. Bah.

Damn! Definitely rest for tonight. Blood is ok, but blurred vision is something you shouldn't take lightly.

Thankfully, the blurred vision has rectified itself, so now I'm just nursing a headache. And praying that my nose has not been whacked out of joint. My left nostril is tender to the touch, so that doesn't bode well.
My brother thinks there's a kink where there was none before, so again, more hoping that it's just swelling that will go down...

Seriously, though... Kurgan, I wouldn't worry for now as long as the blurry vision is gone. If it was still there, I would have seen a doctor to make sure the cornea didn't slip. Glad your vision is back to normal, though.

Wait until the swelling is gone and then look again. Usually, people tend to notice anything due to knowing that one was hit.

Hey LD: how much were those weights you bought, and what brand? I just checked the stores but they're about 15-20 euros,d epending on brand and weight.

Also, can you personally adjust the weight? I see there are different 'pockets' on the ones you bought, so can you start with 1 kg each and then work your way up? or cant you open them?

Do they slip around when you wear them? I would need them for kicking and jumping... so are they attached very well to your ankles/legs???

Hey Yi,

the weights are as I said 2 kg each.

The brand is called Active and I pais about 20 €uros for the pair (10 € each).

The weight is not adjustable as the pockets are filled with sand or so and the pockets are not seperately removable. They are attached well and don't slip at all. Don't know if you would need less than 2 kg per piece. I'm about average in terms of body shape and the weights are just enough. I was actually sad they didn't have anything above 2 kg.

Oki thanks man, i'll see if they have THAT brand then, or else I might go for one where you can yourself determine the weight...
I'm gonna use it to practice my legholdig with, cause since I'm only just buck in shape, I noticed my legholding and balance is a bit off. Plus I wanna practice the multiple aerial kicks so I could use a bit more 'air' in my jumps....

Like yourself, i'm average in bodyshape (well, shit-hot some might say.... but when looked at purely the shape, it's average

)

20 euro's is about the same price as here in Holland then I guess. A bit expensive, but hey, got no choice I guess...

I was wondering if kids in England/Holland/Germany like to butcher their native language as much as kids do in France.

In France, most kids speak "Verlan" nowadays. "Verlan" means "à l'envers" or Upside-Down.
You can obtain verlan by inverting syllables.
Party becomes Typar. Father becomes Therfa. Afternoon becomes Noonafter, Keyboard becomes Boardkey, and so on, and so on.

It's really annoying because most of the time I don't even know what they're trying to say.

Is it just France ?

I dont think England does anything quite as bad as that

Some English people are (IMO at times wrongly) quite snooty about Americanisation of the language as if its inferior, or the Australian thing where you raise your voice slightly at the end of a sentence, so everything sounds like a question. (Only younger US/Australians seem to do this, it drives older Australians crazy).
I have no problem with words being "run" together though, that really seem to piss people off in England, of course French for example is spoken at a very high speed and words are often shortened or blended together in colloquial speech.
So is Japanese.
Normal people dont. talk. like. this. theytalklikethis.. right?

The FRENCH being annoying!?!? Noooo ...surely not...!?!?

Seriously though, I dont think the dutch kids do that crap with the language. They sometimes use english slang or whatever in their dutch sentences but it dont bother me...

Some Scots people talk REALLY fast. Like it's a verbal race and you have five seconds to complete the sentence or die. It's tough to understand even for me.
