Surely it's possible to buy dual layer DVD+Rs for under

Post by bradavon »

The cheapest I can find them for is about £4 which sucks. I want to buy a dual layer DVD writer but the discs are to expensive.

:(

Anyone?

Don't complain.

The cheapest place I've found in France sells them for 14£ E.A.C.H. (!!!)
We just have to wait for the prices to come down.

P.S. do these smileys make me look angry or what ! :P

The same reason people buy DVDs when they're first released.

Why are the £4 discs awful?

Why did you say that Toge?

Salty they're cheap so I suspect most people only use them. I reckon they'rre all about the same.

I've only bought Mirror DVD-Rs so far.

What is Taido Yuden?

I've used 48 of their discs and only had 1 coaster.

Thanks.

I have no problem with whatever DVD brand I buy. Like CD-Rs/RWs they all pretty much the same IMO.

TDK have always had a reputation right back to the days when CD-Rs were new.

Back on topic can anyone find cheap dual layer DVD-Rs? Plus or Minus technology.

Thanks Toge. They're as expensive there as anywhere else :(

Which I'm not sure why dual layer is not exactly a new technology and is not that new for home users now too. At £4 each you can almost buy most titles new.

It took over 20 years for VHS to die with many superior formats not working on a mass scale - Laserdisc and Philips CD-I spring to mind.

DVD is going to be with us for many years to come.
