SP: What can the fans expect to see in Rush Hour3 ?

BR: Well, definitely bigger action , because we have more money! and more comedy, because we are going to France so we can make fun of them! Ah Ah Ah !

Gawd... I'd love to see Jackie and Chris go into a Parisian Macdonald and order some 'freedom fries' :D

It's Rush Hour 3: What can i say about it. Thought the first 2 were decent, although Jackie could have done better, and the action wasnt anything special. I'll approach this like I have approached all of Jackie's latest movies: with extreme caution.

Jackie has often stated he disliked the Rush Hour movies, so it's a shame he's doing a 3rd one...

He's doing it for the hefty paycheque, as we know.

Can you really blame them for wanting to make fun of France? The world may disagree on religious and political views but it can stand united in it's hatred for the French.

TBH I'm surprised that the experiment that is Belgium has lasted as long as it has, the Belgium Dutch and Germans sure do a high tolerance for their French countrymen.

Personally, I have nothing against the french, but perhaps that's cause I've only ever been there when I went to Euro Disney :)

Plus they make great graphic novels, plus great DVDs with greatlooking DVD-covers. Although those snotty french astards dont include english and/or dutch subs... Hmmm maybe I should hate them!?

I'm looking forward to this I like the first two. They're better than lots of Jackie's HK output.

As for taking the mick out of France it's no different to the Americans taking the mick out of Britain. They find it funny to make fun of those quaint Europeans. No doubt it will be chocker block with French stereotypes.

It works both ways of course.

The French get a bad rap at times but then so does every other country that airs it's political views: America, Britain and Germany to name a few.

The French in many ways are no different from the British or Americans, all are very patriotic in a scary way.

Sure I wish most French would lighten up about their language and get with the 21st century and speak English (like Tom  ) but then that's small minded of me to think so in some ways.

You'd think the Spanish would care about their language more than the French what with his much higher world dominance.

They do make excellent cinema though, some of the best in the world. Oh and excellent wine, fine cheese, lovely food. I love the simplicity of English food but French food really is better.

The French invented the baguette and croissant!

WTF since when was a country an experiment?

Belgium Dutch that would be Flemish. If you mean European when you say the French and Germans are countrymen you've got a lot to learn about Europe.

Now who's not doing his homework.

Nope many (but certainly not all) Jackie HK films are very overrated and really are stunt documentaries pretending to be films.

Police Story 3 and Who Am I? are decent. I have Project A but haven't seen it yet.

No not loads so of course my comments are based on what I've seen but most of the big ones.

I didn't think much of Police Story, Police Story 2, Drunken Master or Drunken Master 2.

Easily. I know I know I'll say it all for you Image Image

DM2 is miles better than the borefest that is DM but it's still mostly dull. Clever stunts don't immediately make exciting stunts.

As for which is better DM2 or Police Story that's a hard one, probably Police Story. I like Maggie in that one. I didn't grow up on JC so that may have something to do with it.

I like Chris Tucker too :D , what can I say Romero like Jean Claude Van Damm crap

I also like Van Damme-films. Not all of them, but most.

Brad, if you haven't seen "Project A" , yet, I urge you to do so. It is my favourite JC film ever.

I am sure you would also enjoy "Miracles", which I would call Jackie Chan's directorial masterpiece.

I thoroughly enjoyed Rush Hour, but thought that Rush Hour 2 really stunk, mainly because there was WAY too much Chris. From what's written above, it looks like Rush Hour 3 will be the equivalent of Shanghai Noon 2/Shanghai Knights. :sad3:

Just seems really backwards to do the "fish out of water" routine to death, making fun of another culture in the process.

I think the Shanghai... films are better than the Rush Hour ones, but mainly because of Owen Wilson. I think he's very watchable. I've not seen him do much more than play a laid-back kinda guy, but he does it very well :D
Tucker is bearable in relatively small doses only. :)

I'd rather have a white hot poker inserted into my anus than listen to 100m of Chris Tucker screeching unintelligible racial witticisms at a befuddled ageing Chinese bloke.

OK, so it's not quite that bad... but two was enough!!

The didnt invent the Croissant. It was invented by the swiss when they defeated the Turks in the 17th century or something...

...And I'll be having a few croissants in about an hour orso :D

I didn't know that cheers, so it was a celebration food? :D. They've made them French though

What about pana chocolat (sp?) I love those.

Where's Tom to comment?

True it's been done to death.

I always thought Jackie gave as good as he got.

FYI I don't know what they're called in German but we use the French term pana chocolat (sp?)

I also preferred the Shanghai movies to both Rush Hours :) But look how patchy they are compared to Jackie's HK classics.

Overall would people think Jackie has made more bad than good films? I mean even his HK films it's only something about 5 people mention again and again.

Most barely get a mention.

It's sad they've only been able to come up with two formulas that actually work in his American films, the rest are pretty much awful (JLH was gorgeous in Tuxedo though). Both are similar storylines too: fish out of water.
