Innocent Iraqis killed in US raid

Post by thelostdragon »

Saw this earlier on TV today. Looked for it on the internet, but the only online sources so far seem to be from Al Jazeera.

This is really sad, I really don't think BBC will cover this, and if they do, it will only be a small mention. :(

No offence but this sort of thing happens all the time it seems, does it need to be posted each time?

It's not like anyone posts "Collision Forces killed in Iraqi bomb" which happens just as often.

Well I do have a friends family over there, so it would be useful to myself to know. They have already been in so much problems, that sometimes when you read things like this, it is worrying.

They could if they want.

Does that make it less important?

hmm, dunno if its the similar thing but there was something on the late news on BBC about the american soldiers...going int oa kids house and killing her family and then going and killing the next door family, killing around 15 in total including babies and children, the young girl was speakign about seeing her family killed. and 15 people died because 1 soldier was killed in a car bomb or something (Sorry i didnt pay so much attention until i realized what it was then it was nearly over) so 1 life = 15 for revenge?

no life is less important than another, but no-one should take a life for a life. its bad that ANYONE dies and therefore it is important becuase otherwise most peple would be of the opinion that a war is something glorious and fantastic where no-ody dies and no body is hurt. when the reality is the complete and horrific opposite.

ok here found some links, seems its not the same attack

http://www.itv.com/news/index_1460729.html
http://www.time.com/time/world/article/ ... 49,00.html
from the last link

The Marines then began firing, killing eight residents—including the owner, his wife, the owner's sister, a 2-year-old son and three young daughters

on the news the soldiers described the people they'd just killed as "collateral damage" from a battle they were fighting elsewhere...nice term..."oh sorry i just wiped out your family but they were just collateral damage so its ok"

seems they are being investigated for warcrimes...which funny how you can have warr-crimes...war is a crime in itself..

USA AND UK PULL OUT. Simple.

The Innocents wont be killed and Troops wont be slaughtered on a daily basis. its the only way this is going to be solved basically.

Yet that openes up another can of worms.

I think thats wishful thinking, considering suicide bombers and insurgents carry out a lot of the attacks.
Pulling out will make things worse IMO

To be fair Romero does say that won't completely solve it.

The simple truth is there is no simple answer, no quick fix. Now we're there and we've done what we've done we should not leave just like that definitely not.

We need to finish what we started. That is form a basic democracy but yes pressure should slowly be put on the Iraqi authorities not to take to much time over it.

No of course not you know I don't think that.

My point merely was each week such an article seems to be posted on Bullets but not the other way around. Killing babies is awful but most news in the world is told from a strong bias I never fully 100% believe it.
