Clerks 2 - video diary

Post by EvaUnit02 »

The first entry of Kevin's video diary for Clerks 2 is up on http://www.clerks2.com. I thought it was quite amusing.

BTW DON'T download the teaser trailer, it's all just footage from the original film.

Do we really need a sequel???

We all know it'll just be an inferior copy as Kevin Smith hasn't done a good one since Mallrats!

Yep I second that MARKGWAY...

Seems that Smith is going back to this in hopes he can get some credibilty back...

And it WILL be an inferior movie to the first....as

1) it will not be as fresh an idea
2) he wont be able to recreate the style/mood /feelng
3) after MALLRATS his movies are crapo.......

Yes Mr Salty, Jay and Silent Bob WAS watchable..

But it CERTAINLY never once reached the heights of CLERKS...

Even with MALLRATS you can start to see the slide a little...

CLerks was a REALISTIC (albeit SLIGHTLY exaggerated) take on the sad lives of two clerks.....ALl teh other movies he has made have pushed the nonsense factor higher and higher..Which ahs damaged their quality in my book.

I thought Chasing Amy was pretty good, I rate it higher than Mallrats. Dogma was fun. Hell, I even liked Jersey Girl.

But were they even CLOSE to the wittiness and freshness of Clerks?

Thats why making the sequel will be a bad idea....

I thought CHASING AMY was a self-indulgent bore... as was DOGMA and JAY AND SILENT BOB. I haven't even been able to muster the enthusiasm to rent JERSEY GIRL. Might watch it when it's on TV for FREE.

But CLERKS is an adult comedy classic and MALLRATS a fine follow-up.

Smith should've quit after those.

Clerks is without a doubt his best film.
That movie will remain a cult classic for generations to come.

hey,

nice and profane. And no, the first teaser had Clerks 2 footage set to the Anthrax song "Spreading The Disease or "Among The Living". No dialogue hardly.

How Kevin Smith has managed to make a career out of such bile is beyond me. To date I've seen "Chasing Amy" and "Dogvile", oh and parts of "Clerks". All are dreadful and stink of B-Movie crud.

A turd which turns into a monster is not funny and certainly not clever. A main character whose not allowed to speak is even less funny nor is it clever too.

Hmm maybe I should give Clerks another go.
