Brokeback Mountain - R1, UK R2 & R3 DTS in April
Easily one of the best cinematic films of the year, shame bloody EIV have it.
Extras:
* On Being A Cowboy
* Directing From the Heart: Ang Lee
* From Script to Screen: Interviews with Larry McMurtry & Diana Ossana
* Sharing the Story: The Making of Brokeback Mountain
Nothing else is known so far. I know I'll be waiting for the R1 though, no release date yet.

Eh? Ang has done commentaries for DVD releases of films in the past. I'll wait and see if there's a more elaborate edition.
With all the buzz this one generated and with all the moolah it made, I wouldn't be surprised if it's double-dipped at a later point. Wouldn't be the first time that Universal has double-dipped a "Focus Pictures" release, they did it for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I'm not waiting if I were to wait for every possible SE I'd never buy a DVD again. If an SE comes then I'll upgrade, simple.
I'm waiting for King Kong: SE though as the words "limited time only" on that trailer sum up a further release.
I wish a CTHD: SE would come the DVD sorely needs it.

Only CTHD AFAIK.EvaUnit02 wrote:Eh? Ang has done commentaries for DVD releases of films in the past. I'll wait and see if there's a more elaborate edition.

Nah, Hulk (solo, had alot of dead air, Ang does alot better when he has another person to bounce off of, eg long time Producing/writing partner James Schamus) and Sense & Sensibility (w/ Schamus).bradavon wrote:Eh? Yeah, one free of print damage (Sony, WTF was up with the print damage on a brand new film?!) and with the old R3 Edko subs. Although I'm happy with my R4 with the US subs though if it ain't double-dipped.I wish a CTHD: SE would come the DVD sorely needs it.

The R1 is already shipping I hear but it's a bit expensive for me (UK R2 £10.99 CD WOW, R1 £13.75 most places). I'm going to wait to check out the EIV cover art and if it's acceptable/decent then I'll get the UK R2.
I paid £28 for the original R3 Edko from China town, this was before the days of me knowing much about the Internet. It was bloody expensive but I loved the film then and still do.
I'd get an SE in a shot BUT if the subs weren't the proper theatrical ones (For me this is AS bad as 5.1 remixing is to most others) I would still keep the R3. The Westernised subs really suck.
p.s - Eva can you stop quoting the wrong people please. You said that not me. It's not difficult to edit your posts properly.
I've been asking myself that since day one, the same damage is on the SB. It's really obvious I noticed it back in the day when I just started collecting DVDs.Yeah, one free of print damage (Sony, WTF was up with the print damage on a brand new film?!) and with the old R3 Edko subs.

The R4 (which I have) has the US subs (the most dumbed down of them all).bradavon wrote:I'd get an SE in a shot BUT if the subs weren't the proper theatrical ones (For me this is AS bad as 5.1 remixing is to most others) I would still keep the R3. The Westernised subs really suck.

Your mock up is better than the one EIV have gone with:

I'm going to wait a bit for the R1 to go down in price and get that. The R1 is to much and the UK R2 has AWFUL cover art.
1. Theatrical subs also used on the R3 Standard
2. Westernised subs used on all but the R3 Standard DVDs

I thought that might get me in trouble. As I personally disagree with most people's opinion on leeching I decided to continue regardless but for the record noted.BiscLimpkit wrote:You shouldn't leech images Brad. It steals bandwidth.
Done.BiscLimpkit wrote:You could have saved it and then hosted it on the bullets space that Mordib has provided.

Typical EIV guff... I didn't think they made these sort of covers any more.
Anyway thanks for hosting on bullets.
I remember your arguements for leeching but I'm baffled as to how you can disagree with the fact that stealing bandwidth is wrong.bradavon wrote:As I personally disagree with most people's opinion on leeching I decided to continue regardless but for the record noted.

I'm afraid they very much still do. Even without the tags the quality of the actual pictures are usually really lousy too.BiscLimpkit wrote:Typical EIV guff... I didn't think they made these sort of covers any more.
I'd own much more EIV DVDs if they'd fix this. They're definitely shooting themselves in the foot. It's not like it would take time or cost money to fix the covers. I can't believe ANYONE likes them.

The HK R3 with extra DTS and possibly 1 extra special feature is up at CD WOW for £7.99 (after vouchers):
http://www.cd-wow.com/detail_results_2. ... ode=278177
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blast my R1 has just arrived, good price too. Still it's exactly the same bar DTS (despite being on 2 discs) so I can live with it or is it? DDDHouse list in addition to the R1/UK R2 extras: Director Interviews.
It's an Edko R3 so the quality should be great.
