The official English title of Jackie's new action-comedy is "Rob-B-Hood".
Which idiot came up with that one??

This whole project sounds like a dollop of baby poo if you ask me...

That doesn´t even look like a human beeing, more like a robot...

What are you guys expecting of ProjectBB (sorry, but I won´t use it´s new title  ).

Although I don´t really like the story and the pink clothes Jackie is wearing, I´m looking foward to this movie.
What makes me think positive is the fact that they don´t have a very big budget, so they can concentrate on good action and comedy instead of bad HK-special effects...

Jackie Chan plays a gambling-addicted thief who, alone with two other crooks (Michael Hui and Louis Koo), kidnapped the infant grandson of the richest woman in town (On-On Yu). The original plan was to hand over the baby to a gang leader (Zhang Tielin) for some quick cash
I'm sorry but does anyone else think this story is in desperately poor taste? I mean kidnapping babies is hardly funny. In movies you might have paedophiles and lunatics doing this kind of thing... but Jackie Chan???

Jackie said that he was a "good bad guy" in Project BB.
He probably kidnapped the baby by accident. :D
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

No, they kidnap the baby for some gangster boss as it is the son of some rich woman or rival or so, in order to make some quick money. Then something goes wrong and they now have to take care of the baby. Jackie said it is all comedy, so I believe him, no matter what the story is about. I trust Jackie to be able to deliver comedy.

I havent expected anything good from Jackie for a long long time, and this project doesnt really makes me change my mind...
It started off good with the talk of bringing back both Biao and Sammo, but now we ended up with Louis Koo ... :?

I just wanna know about Tony Jaa's next projects, tbh. He IS delivering the goods in the action-department. If I want comedy, I'll buy a Stephen Chow DVD.

Is he one of the main stars though?
IMO what you say is harsh Yi, I really enjoyed "The Myth" for example :)

I don´t think so. Seems as if he´s got a supporting role, or just a cameo as a policeman (as we can see on a pic posted by lostdragon erlier in this topic...)

@grim and yi-long:

Don´t forget about New Police Story. This one was very good! :)

Yeah, Yuen Biao seems to only have a cameo in this new flick, which is a shame.
And I've seen NPS and felt it was mediocre. The villains were again straight from a comic book (as in many Jackie Chan flicks), and the action didnt come close to what I'd like to see. I guess he did his last good action in Shanghai Knights.

Havent seen The Myth, and TBH, from what I've heard so far, it isnt very good either so it can be a while before I do see it.

i like the idea of him finallly playing a bad guy, even if it comedic...

action-wise what can you expect the guy is 50, fitter than most 50yr olds granted but hes still not gonna be able to perorm like he could in say young master or police story.

i love Jaa's movies beucase he has the awesome action, but then i think his acting can be better lol, but he gives the action like jackie used to actually even better.

but i dunno for me i cant judge a Jackie film on his action anymore mainly because that you cant expect him to be as good as he was in his youth...i did however like NPS and i didnt yet watch the myth...hated the american movies, the fights were medicore. mainly becuase of the annoying american guy in the corner trying to act cool while getting his ass kicked...

I dont agree with your statement that we cant expect good action from him anymore because he's 50. Just watched My Young Aunty this afternoon and the pops and some other old guys where still delivering big-time in that flick, action-wise. Not to mention the stuff he did in Pedicab Driver and Scorpion King.

I dont expect Jackie to do any standing splits or triple jump-kicks or whatever, but with good choreography he should still be able to do some great fightscenes. A fightscene doesnt NEED to have flashy moves and acrobatics to be interesting.

And I dont mind a Jackie Chan film if it hasnt got great action but has a good story and acting, but honestly, when was the last time he has actually been in a GOOD movie, story and acting-wise!?
So since we cant have a good movie, I'd like to AT LEAST see some great action. Why else would I want to watch it?

hmm good movie acting wise, was there ever one?...kidding!...dont shoot me...

but heart of dragon/crime story, stuf fthat focus' less on action and more on acting.

i agree he can still create great fight scenes my point was it cant be expected to be like his younger movies, which i find many people still expect and when he doesnt deliver they are like "oh well that was ok but he didnt fight like he did in drunken master or police story etc.." well duh probably becuase hes bodys been pretty fucked up from all the accidents

maybe i mis-understood the line "it didnt come close to what i expected to see" but well i guess thats just my experience of people as actors get older they still expect them to fight like a 25yr old...sorry!!

but as he got older i focused more on his actiong and less on his fighting, they are fun to watch but now i would really like to see him in some good drama roles

Ow yeah, what I meant with 'it wasnt what I expected' didnt mean I thought it would be near the quality of Drunken Master 2, but I just expected GOOD action and fights, because of so many people saying it was a very good movie and a return to form from Chan. It wasnt. It was dissapointing, and had a shitty story.
Dont get me wrong, I dont HATE the movie or anything. It was entertaining watching it when I did... but it hardly has ANY replay value at all.

And you're right, he probably cant do the stuff he did in DM2 anymore. But he CAN make a movie with that VIBE again, and with as much ambition in the choreography. Hell... he can even do Tai Chi for all I care, as that style can also certainly be choreographed in such a way that it would look nice on-screen. So it doesnt have to be all jumps and flips etc... but it can definately be a lot more interesting then what he showed in his last bunch of movies.

But if he makes a movie like Crime Story again, with that quality of acting and story, then I would care less about the quality of the fights. Hell, I wouldnt mind seeing him in a straight action Johnny To flick or whatever. Or perhaps a return of John Woo to HK and casting Jackie in a serious role.

Jackie in a role that actors like simon yam or anthony wong usually play, that would be cool...

New Police Story for example. Give it a try. It´s worth watching and has got a good story, acting, action. Overall it´s a very good movie. I´d say, it´s his best since "Who am I?"

Hmmm... the action in "Shanghai Knights" was really designed for kids. Even the fights in the first part and in "ATWI80D" were more brutal.

Ahh, thanks lostdragon, completly overlooked it...

Talking about Atwi80d: I liked it someway, but it´s a movie Jackie needn´t have done, as most of his fans aren´t very happy with it and it wasn´t successful at the boxoffice.

What really annoyed me, was the ending of it. It´s just boring...

Well the film is basically a remake of ATWI80D with Jackie slap bang in the middle, I wasnt expecting a good movie, maybe that was why I liked it.

Like LD said, I've already sene NPS ;)
You thought Who Am I was good? I thought it was horrible. I hate it. The action at the end is decent/good, but as a movie it blows. Even worse then most Jackie movies. It's so goddamn awfull.

Hmmm... well it's been a while since I've seen it (and only saw it once) but I enjoyed the movie very much at the time and thought the action was good better then SHanghai Noon or his Rush Hour movies, but perhaps I'm only thinking about the fight at the end with Donnie.

Don't get me wrong though, it's nowhere near as good as old-skool Jackie, as he was in Police Story 2 (short fight in the park) or the fight at the end of Heart of the Dragon.
I still count Drunken Master 2 as his last masterpiece. I just love that movie.
