Commando - R4 re-released uncut!

Post by EvaUnit02 »

The R4 of Commando has been re-released uncut! Hooray! No paying horrible costs to import a Euro release for me!
http://www.michaeldvd.com.au wrote:Some good news was passed to me today and yesterday via e-mail concerning the Australian Commando DVD from Fox. This fun Mark L. Lester actioner has just been re-released in its original (US R-rated) version locally. I have been told that the cover is the same as the old cover, but the following serial numbers are on the disc itself... Top side: 1484SDW DVD 5: SINGLE LAYER, SINGLE SIDED DISC Underside: 928629-C23-2 25.F9.DV.1484STV1.1.S5A IFPIL603 I will confirm this for myself when I have access to this new DVD. Enjoy da moofie and "Let off a little steam!"

We don't know yet, he said he hasnt got the DVD yet. I'd be very surprised if it was not anamorphic, the old R4 release was AFAIK.
I'd like to see an uncut re-release with a new transfer and 5.1 sound TBH, but there you go.

I got the French DVD last year.

It would be passed uncut in the UK if Fox actually bothered to submit it to the BBFC.

I guess the French will have to do for now, it could do with 5.1 at least though.

It was made in 1985 so 5.1 is an afterthought.

I guess the original track would have been Mono/Stereo?

Yep.

I can't see it not being anamorphic.

It won't happen though, until some form of HD DVD takes off IMO.
