Damn you Disney!

Post by grim_tales »

Finally got round to checking out my Lost: S1 set (will watch some tonight). Now, one of the forced sneak peaks you get at the start is for Lost S2 (!) :?
It doesnt really spoil anything about S1 at all IMO (its too short for that) its just kind of stupid to see a preview of S2 before you've even seen S1
What makes matters worse is that when you finally get to the DVD menu, these sneak peak previews are included again to see at your own pace! You were just forced to sit through them! :x

Forced startup trailers on DVDs seem to be an much more increasing occurence thesedays.

At least it that really annoying "piracy is bad" video with the extreme music video editing with lame comments like "You wouldn't steal a TV" or some shit. I fucking hate that thing - I've got R1, R2 AND R4 DVDs with that bloody clip on it at bootup. It's played every fucking film in the multiplexes over here too.

Yeah that stuff sucks. I don't download movies as it would take too long (although I hear downloading through newsgroups would be alot faster), but shit like this, when you're FORCED to watch an ANTI-PIRACY COMMERCIAL (commercials on DVD's: wtf!?), are increasingly annoying, and are starting to make me reconsider my anti-copying attitude.

I buy a movie so I can watch it at my own leisure. I do NOT want to have to wait 5 minutes before I can start watching. If they keep putting shit like that on legally-bought DVD's then I might resort to downloading ripped movies and burning them.

Why cant they just include an anti-piracy flyer in the DVD-case?

I'm not saying I'd agree but if they did that you, I and everyone else wouldn't read it.

Yeah, but we'd have a CHOICE, instead of it being forced upon us. They wouldnt ANNOY us with their message, but bring it ina normal, polite way. When they FORCE it down your throat when you have already PAID for the fucking DVD, it just goes too far.
It's like going into a newsstand to buy a paper/magazine, and each and everytime the clerk gives you a 2 minute preach about how you shouldnt shoplift. Every time! And only after you have listened to that speech, are you allowed to take the paper/magazine home with ya...
