Yeah. Reminds me of Crime Story.

Because it makes the movie look dark and violent (the way HK police movies are supposed to look).
Not like the german poster (that makes it look like a comedy if I recall). :D

Kinda like this:

Muahahahahahahahahahah !!

Update:

After years and years of waiting, HK Vidéo are about to end our torment.
Tsui Hark's The Blade will be released in May 2006.

All we know so far is that it's a 2-Disc edition, and that it will contain interviews with at least Tsui and his screenwriter Koan Hui.

Pretty simple, but very strong. The way covers should be.

Nope. As usual. :D

The french subs are removable, though.
That's why some people might be interested in these DVDs.

I really should have done better when I had French in school. I totally sucked at it, and the only reason I (barely) passed that class was because I had made pretty drawings in my excercise book instead of making the assignments... :)

Im Kwon-Taek's style is difficult to appreciate at first, I know. :D
Try some of his other movies... They kinda grow on you after a while.

Update:

Well, New Police Story is about to be released, and a detailed review is already out:

http://www.dvdrama.com/fiche.php?6096

Yeah, yeah, I know it's all in french, but you can still look at the pretty pictures. :D

They gave the picture a 10/10 (knowing how HK Vidéo treat the negatives from recent movies, I'm not that surprised).
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the HK Vidéo transfer was massively superior to the Joy Sales disc.
There's a DTS track for both the french and cantonese soundtracks.
The french subtitles are probably perfect (none of the hiccups from the Joy Sales disc).

The extras are pretty much the same as on the HK disc, except that they're subtitled.

+ It's not so expensive for a french DVD (25€).

I'm getting it as soon as it's released.
We'll see if HKL can do better. :D

Update:

This is the cover for Save The Green Planet, soon to be released by Studio Canal:

It's not a great cover but at least the transfer won't be a NTSC-> PAL conversion.

Update:

Kumite, a french magazine about asian movies, have announced that they will include the first DVD from the Korean TV show Damo in their next issue. ( :geek: )

If I'm not mistaken, this could be the first ever DVD release of a korean TV show in France.

Sounds like good news. Who will be releasing the entire series in France?

but the subtitle - "The Legend of the Fighters of the Wind"
The legend of the riders of the wind.
I know it sounds daft, but it sounds better in french than in english. :D

It's a label called Elephant.
The "Asian Premiums" label (Bichunmoo, My Wife is A Gangster) belongs to them.
And since their version of MWIAG was magnificent, I'd say this is good news. :)

Merci Tom ;) Didnt realise it meant "Fighters" (probably confused "cavalier" with "chevalier" (horse-rider) :D

I'm a bit confused with the french releases for Goyokin. Maybe someone could help me with this.

First there is the 2 disc version: http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B ... 04-5608929
Then there's the one disc version of the same (I assume): http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B ... 04-5608929
But what is this?: http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B ... 04-5608929

I'm thinking about getting the french release as the new R1 release isn't that good (according to dvdbeaver).

1. 2-Disc edition, December 2004.
2. Single-disc pocket edition, September 2005.
3. OOP single-disc edition, March 2004.

Note that the pocket edition has no extras whatsoever. That's why it costs 16€ (which is very cheap for a french DVD).

There's a very positive DVD review on HKMania:
