Wolf Creek 3/5

Just slighty disappointed after the hype but still a very decent horror/thriller. The first half of the movie, the director goes for realism (docu-style), so not a lot happens. But as soon as Mick Taylor (one of the nastiest, most vile killers I've seen in a film for a while, superbly played by John Jarrett) turns up, the film changes pace completely.

From then on, events take a turn for the distastrous as sadistic Mick stalks the youngsters like a cross between the terminator and Rutger Hauer in The Hitcher. The main problem I had was that during the final third of the film - where a main character does something really silly, instead of concentrating on escape - plausibility is compromised for narrative purposes. But I would recommend watching purely for John Jarrett's performance.

p.s. There is a delightfully perverse reference to a scene from Crocodile Dundee!

The Sword In The Stone (1963) - 3.5/5

I have fond memories of this!

Not among Disney's best, the animation is limited (to be fair the film makes good use of it though) and the songs are poor, but its' definitely worth a watch

Eraserhead - 3/5
The most bizarre film I've ever seen. The weirdness in subsequent Lynch films has been heavily watered down compared to this. I enjoyed it, but it's far from being one of my favourite Lynch films.

Re-Animator - 4/5
An incredibly fun and well-crafted popcorn film. I'd to see the sequel "Bride of Re-Animator" now.

I've not seen too many Lynch titles... I think only Eraserhead, Mullholland Drive and Dune. Eraserhead's my favourite but Dune is my least favourite.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith 3/5

Probably, the best of the prequels. Looks too streamlined (CGI) for my liking but some good saber scraps and an improved Hayden Christensen as Anakin.

A Bittersweet Life 3/5

I was really looking forward to this but felt a bit let down. Another case of the trailer making the film seem better than it actually is. The first half is very good, but the final third was a bit "meh" as everyone seems to say these days. Still (like the directors previous film) the music was excellent and very nice visuals.

Rush Hour 2 4/5

Watched this again yesterday, and still one of JC's best US movies IMO. Great knockabout fun and the interplay between Chan and Tucker works so much better than in the first movie.

The Tuxedo - 1.5/5

Oh dear.
A huge disappointment after the pleasantly surprising Accidental Spy, this is but a sorry attempt to pair Jackie up with some Bond style gadgetry in a story concerning some bollocks about a plan to pollute the water supply. Everything seemed very childish IMO, even though is a 12 rated film

There's even a gag "The names Tong, James Tong"
Give me strength

Also, Jennifer Love Hewitt may be a looker but she is not a warm or likeable character in the film, you'd think she'd be friendlier to Jackie.

Memoirs of a Geisha - 4/5
Even IF the film had no storyline at all, I'd give this 2.5/5 for it's beautiful pictures and cinematography. On top of that you get a strong cast. Minus 1 point because it was shot in English.

Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe 4/5

Very good book adaptation and great visualisation. Would have been a little better if they had made the final battle thing a little more violent, but I guess it is definitely more of a kids film that LotR!!! The centaurs kicked ass!!

Given that I've very recently read the books, I was very pleased with the film!

I used to think that this was great, but the impact seems to have diminished. Still a lot of fun though, and Bruce having a great time. Hmmm....not sure if I prefer the first one now.

LMAO you guys seen this? What a fantastic movie. I love this old-school style - dudes walking up to each other and are like "you insult me with your poor kung fu, let's fight."

Splendid choreography, stunts and long moody stares. Plus it has a better calligraphy scene than Hero. I'm a moron for not having seen this ages ago tbh.
