You know back in the day some people were really offended by that tree rape... like it MIGHT actually happen!?!

Bisc who is the girl in your avitar? :)

I agree with you about Evil Dead Bruce, I've seen it a few times now and its not *that* scary, cool in DTS though! ;)
I know the tree=rape wouldn't actually happen (was it cut back in the day?) but it is shown in quite a realistic, violent way IMO.

BTW LD - back to 7 Swords (sorry), but I found the music/score absolutely perfect, expecially the main theme (the one on the DVD menu) and also the tune played at the end of the film. :)

Yes, the film's music is really cool. Only Tsui Hark takes the risk of using synthesizer music even in his contemporary films. It was really good.

The 5.1 track is very good indeed, maybe the sound was mixed in Australia and not HK.
While it would be cool to see the 4 hour cut of the film, I'm happy with this one, 7 Swords is still a great movie IMO.

Yeah, I gave it a 4.5/5 in my DVD review. The swords striking onto each other sound really good.

I really liked this, much better than I was expecting! :) A good fun action-comedy IMO.

How is the HK DVD then? I'd like to check that out. The US version is a good movie sure, but its really short (80-something minutes).

Uncut, but non-anamorphic, therefore no good for me.

SPL: Sho Pa Lang - 4.5/5

Wohoah man what a spectacular movie. Two globally acclaimed martial artists in a climactic showdown. I'm a huge fan of Donnie Yen but he's been terribly under-used recently. So I'm delighted for him to receive a starring role in SPL. Hung and Yam were awesome too. This is a film about the ULTIMATE ass whooping. If you want to psyche yourself up and whoop someone's ass... watch this film.

My only critisism is that the film suffers from a few slow overly-sentimental segments but is otherwise, one mean bastard of a ride.

Its Sha Po Lang. :D

And the sentimental bits is supposed to be a throwback to John Woo movies.

24 - Season 5 - Episode 1 - 4.5/5
WTF? How the world do they still manage to come up with such an authencity? Oh man, I don't want to spoil a thing, but it is unbelievable how tough-minded the scriptwriters are being again. And what's even more awesome is to see how they managed to make Jack Bauer return to action.

Off to watch episode 2 now.

It's either being shown in German right now. Or he flew to the US to catch it every week.

Alternatively, he used another method, which must not be named. :o

Man, I just couldn't wait...

BTW, is it illegal to download a television show? I mean not the DVD version, but one that was captured directly from TV. I guess not.

24: Season 5: 7am-8am - 5/5

What an opener! A fantastic start to the season. If the rest of the season turns out to be as good as this, it may well be the best one yet! :D Loving it!

Man, great to have another person to talk about it. I don't wanna spoil the next episodes for you so let's talk about the first one. The reason I didn't give it a full 5/5 and instead a 4.5 is that
Michelle Dessler suddenly wanting to return to CTU seemed so fake and made up and not like a natural action which made it a bit unbelievable.

But man, the writer doesn't give a damn about the characters, which makes 24 so awesome. On Day 1 it's the death of Teri Bauer. On Day 2 Mason bites the dust. Chase's hand on Day 3. Does Chappell die on Day 4?
Man, and now Palmer and Michelle on Day 5. I'm not going to tell you about the next episodes, though. :D

Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear - 4.5/5

More of the same as the first one, but no less funny. :)

"The truth hurts doesnt it Hapsburg? Oh sure, maybe not as much as jumping on a bike with the seat missing..."

:D
