Aye anyone seen this yet? How do they compare it to the recent fix of fantasy titles that we've been getting lately?
Personally, I thought it made great entertainment - not perfect, felt kinda tame under LOTR's shadow - but fun to watch. The battles were very nicely filmed - the suspense was incredible. The violence was kept tasteful so that wee kiddies can enjoy also. Wonder if we'll see any more hmm...
3.5/5 from me imo.

I've only seen the trailers and lil clips and such from it.... but to me the costumes looked really bad/out of place. Like they were all brand new, just bought from benetton or something. They just didnt really fit in well...
Ofcourse, I've onlys een the trailer, so it could look much better when you actually watch the movie (like the special effects in Harry Potter look shit when you see just a small clip of it, but when you watch the actual movie they don;t bother you and look good...)

I'll probably see it after Christmas Bisc
I don't think you can compare it to LOTR that much, Narnia is much more of a children's book than LOTR, IMO.
It'll be cool seeing how this measures up to a) the book and b) the classic BBC TV version in the 80's
I believe TLTWATW is the first Narnia book in "chronological order" if you see what I mean, even though Magician's Nephew is the "first" book.

Why yes you're right!
Sorry
Magician's Nephew is the first in "reading order" according to my copy of TLTWATW, The Lion.. is number 2.
So BBC adapted Book 2, 4, 5 and 6 for TV.
What made me think TLTWATW was the first was this line at the end:
"And that was the very end of the adventure with the wardrobe. But if the Professor was right, it was only the beginning of their adventures in Narnia"

TLTWATW was made into a film first because it's the most well-known I'm guessing.grim_tales wrote: I believe TLTWATW is the first Narnia book in "chronological order" if you see what I mean, even though Magician's Nephew is the "first" book.
I never read the whole of Magician's Nephew and all I can remember is that the main dude is called Cedric Digory and some old fucker who pronounced girl as "gel".
