I'm just pleased it looks to be Asian.

The west on the whole will label such as talent as "the kung fu dude" and it will never change.

-The movie is called Huo YuanJia.
-It's a prequel to Fist of Legend.
-This could be Jet Li's last movie ever.
-It will be shot in mandarin.

I've been hearing about this project since long before Danny the Dog.
I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

more stuff:

The movie appears to be co-directed by Wu Ma.
Back when Jet's name wasn't attached to the project, Gordon Liu and Cheng Pei-Pei were part of the cast. Don't know if they still are.

Synopsis: (minor spoilers ahead)
The young Huo Yuanjia is travelling with his father who must deliver 2000 taels to the Tai-Ping rebels.
They are ambushed and the father gets killed. A masked warrior saves him and takes him to the Ri-Yue inn to be protected by madam Hong (possibly Cheng Pei-Pei). The masked man happens to be madam Hong's lover, Wang Wu (possibly Gordon Liu Chia-Hui).
With them, Huo YuanJia will learn KungFu...

EDIT:
Cheng Pei-Pei on set:

As this has more in it now I'll lock that one.

I never knew this was coming and missed that when Grim posted.

Will it be a proper prequel though? I don't see Yuen Woo-ping attached to it.

I've heard talk of him quitting to concentrate on Buddhism. Are the rumours true? I hope not.

Wo-ping appears to be fight choreographer (as per FoL) so hopefully will spend plenty of time, and use the FoL style

Pics from Fearless - Jet Li vs. yank wrestler Nathan Jones.

The film is shaping well to my eye. Jet Li + Yuen Woo-Ping - wire-fu = winner? Then again, it's directed by Ronny Yu and his films suck copious amounts of cock (at least his Hollywood attempts. Dunno about his HK stuff, but Postman Strikes Back sounds naff from what I've read.)

What's wrong with The Postman Strikes Back? I thought it was quite a cool ninja movie. :)

Checking out that website this looks freakin' awesome. I really hope it's as good as it looks. That trailer makes it looks amazing.

It really reminds me of OUATIC, which of course is a good thing.

It's about time Jet learnt what Jackie has and that is to not bother with Hollywood. It helps their bank balance but not their career. I really hope this isn't Jet's last film, even if he moves into other non-action roles.

First trailer available.
Nice try. I tried that but that just links to the border not the trailer.

You'll need to go to the site and follow the links:

Don't download it, just copy paste the url and go there in your browser.
Then it will stream the trailer.

It's just a little shortcut. :)

Can someone please change the title of the thread now that we know the actual title ?

Here:
http://www.dvdrama.com/rw_news-13781-0- ... nglais.php

At the bottom of this page you'll find:
-"Bande-annonce anglaise + Trois suppléments en mandarin et cantonais"
=English trailer + 3 interviews in mandarin and cantonese.

-"Bande-annonce cantonaise sous-titrée anglais"
=Cantonese trailer with english subtitles.
http://www.cinema.com.hk/broadcast/trai ... ler2-1.wmv

These are streaming RealMedia or Windows Media videos.

The english trailer is quite scary ("Jet Li's Final Martial Art movie")
