Record of The Year

Post by grim_tales »

Westlife win it (again)
Granted, You Raise Me Up was a better record than the ridiculous My Humps by the Black Eyed Peas and maybe the inoffensive McFly 60's throwback All About You but hardly the best record of the year! :? What is it with these people?

Like all these things it's more about popularity than quality.

I said INoffensive not offensive. :D Its' a nice tune but if you listen to the lyrics and melody it sounds VERY early 60's (to me anyway).

And BTW I liked Where Is The Love and Shut Up by BEP 8)

Black Eyed Peas are mince and so are Westlife. And James Blunt. And probably every other fucker in the charts. How can there be a record of the year when they all suck ass!

My record of the year was Natalie Imbruglia's Shiver and that barely scraped the top ten. Record buying morons!!

If only shit records are available and get marketed right, its what sells. Sad but true.
I agree with you I hate Worstlife, one of the most bland boybands ever IMO
James Blunt and Daniel Powter sounded fucking awful singing their songs "live".

Grim and Mark you're both so wrong about Jame Blunt 8)

So you did

p.s - The thing is doesn't record actually mean album? So why is the chart on a bloody single?

The album of the year (if there was one) would mean much more and would be very different.

They're no different to Blue, Boyzone, Take That and hundreds of other boybands.

What's different?

Westlife and Boyzone (Westlife especially) were essentially a covers band. Their emotion free versions of I Have a Dream and Seasons In The Sun should have come with a health warning :(

Take That may have been not very good but it was ORIGINAL crap (OK Back For Good was very good) :D
