just watched this very disappointing. movie didn't seem to be able decide whether it wanted to be a modern day tomb raider type or an historical epic so it did both and failed imo. not even any really good setpieces to save the day, there are a couple of reasonable battlefield scenes and an improvised sequence in a glue factory harked back to jackie's earlier,better days. the finale is very underwhelming marred by some poor cgi effects.even the end outakes are distinctly average which sums up the film. for all that if you like jackie chan and can pick it up for under a tenner it's a 2hr timefiller so worth getting.

Yeah...its definitely a movie I had on Fast Forward for a LONG time..

The CGI effects at the end were pretty bad...and Jackie looked rather silly in his warrior dress....
Didnt help that it reminded me of the much superirio Armour Of God in some respects.

was left waiting for soe decent set pieces...but I guess he doesnt want to do that kind of movie anymore???

Also the plot holes wer larger than usual this time.........

Odd because he and director Stanley TOng ususlly do well together...

Mallika Sherawat was worth watching it for though....

yes the indian actress was great, i hoped she'd be in the whole film but disappeared suddenly halfway through never to return..she had far more charisma than the po-faced actress who played the princess..

I'll wait until someone trades their copy of the standard 2-discer... don't want any Avant Garde crap (and can't play DTS!) Film doesn't even sound like a keeper.

So what do you watch them for?....

The excellent characterisations?
The oscar-caliber acting...
The innovative and exciting style of direction?
The realistic portrayal of common people in unusual situations?
The hauntingly unforgettable soundtracks?

I'm confused...I thought most people were like me...Bored through most of it and then highly anticipating the 'silly chop sockey fights' which are, in reality, the ONLY thing seperating Jackies movies from the other stuff...

For a LONG time he had almost NO competitiion....But with Tony Jaa ( and a few others)releasing their stuff now, Jackies stuff seems mild and forgettable (which is understandable at his age)...but even so, he needs to at LEAST make a decent movie...even if he cant fight so well nw....

I'm happy that I CAN't find any of that in a Jackie movie, because when I look at the people who win Oscars for their acting these days, I could puke.

Hmmm... there are movies that protray that... like documentaries.

I can find that in a Jackie film as well. So many themes of Jackie's movies are unforgettable to me. The one for "The Myth" is just a very good and most recent example. Love the soundtrack and I have bought it.
