I think it's just the ultimate all-bloody Japanese edit of the two volumes. I've been waiting for a version like this...
And yeah I read the vagina thread and no joke - I could not stop laughing!! I even had a shower afterwards and I laughed through that, it was that funny. It got locked before I could comment so I immortalised a conversation as my vagina... I mean sig.

I liked part 2, but hated the overlong Gordon Liu training segments. Part 1 was more fun though, the final battle with Lucy Liu was bollocks though. Overall both parts felt uneven, with all the mish-mashed "homages".bradavon wrote: Personally I'm not interested. I hated part 2.
I'll probably rent the "uncut DC" when it's out, I didn't like either film enough to warrant a purchase.

I have only seen the first part so far...Was not overly impresse3d by this one...
I actually put part 2 in my Dvd player one day, saw that it ran over 2 hours...and it has been on the shelf since....
Tarantino is REALLY overrated...and while I enjoy his movies, after PULP FICTION everythign seems like a rehash and/or a step down....

I just remembered something, I read an interview about Quentin Tarantino and apparently they intend to give kill Bill another theatrical outing but this time it will be released as one long film incorporating all the parts from the Japanese version. If I remember correctly it's going to be called kill Bill the whole bloody affair .

I totally agree with all this, plus I don't really like Tarentino much either.gojensen wrote:Pulp Fiction? Talk about overratedPersonally I think KB1 is better than PF... but his "best" work would be True Romance (which he didn't direct) and maybe Reservoir Dogs...
Erm, so maybe I don't like QT?!
I've always felt the reason PF and RD got such a huge reception, was because it's 'kinda' an arthouse flick, passed of as action because of all the guns, swearing and blood etc, that somehow got the 'action' fans to watch it, and since they weren't used to seeing anything other then Bruce Willis, Schwarzenegger flicks, they were so pleasently suprised and in awe, that they felt it was the best movie ever.
It isn't
Yeah, they're good movies, especially when you compare it with USA action flicks at the time, but (to me personally) they weren't all that special. Ofcourse, we were already used to John Woo and Ringo Lam and other good flicks at the time.
I liked Kill Bill, but it could have been much better as well. I didnt really like the casting (for the most part, although Gordon Liu and the japanese guys were cool), but it's a good flick. I'm actually one of the few people I guess that enjoyed pt 2 better then pt 1, because I was pleasantly surprised with Uma's acting. I don't really rate her highly, but in KB 2 she did a pretty good job. I still would have liked a better actress for the part though... and one that could handle the action better.
I havent bought the dvd's though, and I'm not sure I ever will. First of all I'm gonna wait for the supposedly 1 big ass Kill Bill, instead of the 2 part thing... and even then I'll be deciding after reading reviews and when it's a reasonable price. I've already seen it in the cinema, meaning I've had to pay twice for 1 movie... so not really excited about doing the same and having to buy 2 seperate DVDs...
I feel Jackie Brown is pretty good. It doesnt have much of the bullshit dialogue and 'tricks' that RD and PF had. It just had a very good story, very good performances, and a nice MILF in the lead-role.
It's just a bit more realistic and down to earth, and has that nice 70's vibe...
I was there, the big BNB blackout of november, 2008. We lost many that day...

I rate kill Bill volume 1 very highly even though I acknowledge the action sequences could have been done better. As was mentioned above its full of style not just visually but in a choice of music. I was expecting more of the same for volume two and while I was entertained it wasn't in the same league. I would love to see a sequel to kill Bill which has been talked about with the little girl who the bride killed her mum (I forget her name and character name now) trying to kill Uma.
I would definitely be interested to see what they're going to do with the film in one cut. Assuming that they aren't just going to slap the Japanese cut of volume 1 next to the Japanese cut of volume 2. I'm hoping that they are going to change the film by cutting the scenes and placing them in a different order so that the film has more balance. Still the can't get away with the anti-climactic ending of the bride verses Bill. In a way it is a pity that the House of Blue leaves scene could not have been the end of the film with Lucy news character as the main target rather than deal... Obviously it would not be called kill Bill but that was a suitable ending for a film.
No matter what happens I am going to stick with my Japanese kill Bill volume 1 DVD fully uncut unlike the UK/US versions... I really hated it when it went black-and-white just so that it would get an R rating.

I remember reading somewhere that the plan was to have it made as an all anime production.sky75 wrote:I would love to see a sequel to kill Bill which has been talked about with the little girl who the bride killed her mum (I forget her name and character name now) trying to kill Uma.
I'd love to see something like that, the Production I.G. work in Vol.1 was stunning.
