Momentum - DVD label releasing Shaws movies in the UK!

Post by grim_tales »

I wonder if its' worth getting the R2 versions over the R3 Celestials? I have got Heroic Ones and seen Heroes Two, but not Spiritual Boxer or Human Lanterns.
I wonder what this means for "uncut" status" of Shaws films? Didn't Shaws often make harder versions of their films for the UK/Europe?
I thought maybe we'd be seeing an uncut version of some films but with the original audio? Or are they just porting the Celestials? Probably.
Isn't the HK "Human Lanterns" cut?

and they cost far far more as well, so I wont bother. Some films may be worth an upgrade to anazmorphic, but apart from that its pants news 19.99 my arse!

£19.99? I know thats just the RRP but bloody hell even at a discounted price (£14.99) is expensive when you can get the R3s for £7/8 on CD-WOW (maybe cheaper).
I agree with you Brad and Romero ;)

Brad where did you see the cover art? :) (Just wondering how you knew what the cover was like).

EDIT: I had a look on Play.com and the covers for Heroic Ones and Heroes Two look a bit naff IMO - also not sure if they're worth a 18 rating (if thats not just a test cover), maybe a 15 (Heroic Ones is pretty bloody and CAT IIB rated, I have the HK disc).
Thats just me though. ;)

Actually, some of these films were previously cut by the BBFC - Heroes Two, which I used to have the HK disc of, is CAT IIB and uncut (AFAIK) but the UK 18 rated VHS from the 80's is cut by a whopping 2m 43s for example.
I wonder if the cuts will be waived?

At the 18 rating I bet they will be.

Its is nice that they are coming out in the UK still :) I hope they do well still and hope the name Shaw in the UK gets to the general public, they definalty deserve some sales as some are pretty much top films, would be nice if they can get extras and stuff not on the HK dvds :)
