Uhm... lol... check that trailer out. Is it just me, because I'm Muslim, or does the film look like some producers took advantage of the current situation and created a tasteless peace of cliché-filled junk?

Besides, I find it kinda idiotic to claim "Muslims have no sense of humour!" I'd like to say racist, but it isn't, as Islam is not a race. Anybody can be a Muslim. And in case they are referring to Arabs or people from the Middle East, they prove that they have lost any sense of humanity.
How many times have you guys experienced me joking here?

Sense of humour is a question of style, rythm and timing.
A joke that makes a texan guy laugh will definately not work on the japanese.
Just like Stephen Chow's verbal humour falls flat when we (non-asians) watch his films.
I'm sure they have a great sense of humour in the Middle-East. But I doubt they could make us laugh.

I used to be "the man who loves the movies you hate".
Now I'm just "that weird french guy with a cat avatar who comes to BnB once a year for no reason and then disappears again".

What I was getting at though is maybe that's just the set-up for the film but the final result is quite different? Maybe the film shows funny Muslims and deals with western prejudices and assumptions? I have no idea and haven't read any reviews. Trailers can be very misleading.
Erm, is that the time...?How many times have you guys experienced me joking here?

LD, do you know the half-Iranian stand-up comic (can't remember his name) who appeared at the tsunami charity stand-up gig and has also been on Jack Dee: Live at the Apollo?
Initially, he puts on a thick middle Eastern accent when he comes on, then halfway through admits its for effect as he actually has a British accent.

I know who that is: Omid Djalili. I really want to see his stand up comedy
He was in the Mummy and other movies
Taken from http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0229084/bioOmid Djalili is Britain's only Iranian stand-up comedian and actor. Omid had great success performing A Strange Bit of History, which won the Spirit of The Fringe award at the Edinburgh Festival in 1994, Omid has since become a fringe favourite with a string of sell-out shows. In 1995 it was with Short Fat Kebab Shop Owner's Son again in 1996 in Arab & The Jew and in 1997 with a full-length solo stand-up show Omid Djalili Is Ethnic. He has become one the funniest, freshest and most original comedians in Britain, this being reinforced by him winning the LWT Best Stand-Up Award in 1997. His international appeal is vast, having performed in the last three years in Australia, Austria, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, The Czech Republic and Slovakia. Omid has appeared in every episode of BBC2's Alexei Sayle's Merry-go-round Ch4 sketch show Barking and the Ch4's Coming Soon. Omid has also been seen on the big screen in Notting Hill and a major role with Brendan Frazer and John Hannah, in the Hollywood's remake of the 1932 Boris Karloff film The Mummy. In August 1999 Omid once again was awarded with the Spirit of the Fringe at the Edinburgh Festival. His show received rave reviews in the newspapers. 1999 also saw Omid in the latest James Bond Movie, The World Is Not Enough, and also appearing in every episode of the new Ch4 sitcom Small Potatoes alongside Perrier Award Winner Tommy Tiernan. Omid will also be seen in the new Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott film Gladiator with Russell Crowe and Oliver Reed, which is due for release shortly. He has also been on location in Turkey for the film Jason And The Argonauts alongside Dennis Hopper, Nastassja Kinski and David Bowie.

No he played Warden Gad Hassan, the guy who wanted Bredan Frazier to die by hanging, and said 'Mamm i would pay you 100 shilling to see him die'
Oded Fehr played Ardeth Bey, who for me played a great middle eastern character. I just wish they could expand on his character if they was to make a another movie, it would have been cool to see a middle eastern hero in today world.
